Mods, after the reveal, what are we allowed to do that we couldn't do before? Will hardware VS threads be allowed? Should you guys just go ahead and make an official one?

That all depends if specifications are revealed.

As Shifty noted [ http://forum.beyond3d.com/showpost.php?p=1736823&postcount=3403 ] , there will be 2 civil-minded threads that will target the discussions, one for the business savy and one for the tech savy. Any comparisons outside of those threads will be dealt with appropriately.

Hardware VS threads are historically never allowed at B3D, as they are typically nothing more than fanboys wagging their penises at one another (or beating each other over their heads with them, situation depending...)

If you want hardware VS threads, there's plenty sites on the web where that sort of stuff is acceptable; GAF, IGN and so on.

In general, VS threads are not allowed, but if all the participants can keep it civil then the topics to compare the business and technical aspects of the consoles will be opened. Those who prove themselves to contribute nothing but noise will find themselves watching from the sidelines.

I've been on B3D long enough to know that probably won't happen. Should lock this thread then since you already have what I was thinking about here: http://forum.beyond3d.com/showthread.php?t=63566
