It won't help the environment either if it's based in a city.
There's games on PS2 that use proceduraly created urban style content (Buildings, etc...).

Of course, it has a bigger memory footprint than a landmap create with a noise based heightmap stuff, but it's still save a lot of memory and bandwidth.

Yeah and those buildings probably look like crap too.

Not gonna speculate on whether or not that demo was realtime (personally doubt it), but if you can't get round cylinders in cutscenes on this coming gen hardware, then will we ever? We're talking about systems than can calculate hundreds of millions of polys. Even if you can't fit that level of geometry in memory, that's what you have HOS for. And you have SPEs churn through them to tesselate. If G70 has a setup rate of 860Mpps (as stated in the "leaked" specs) then RSX should be over 1Bpps. Cell, likewise should be able to generate more than that. Why wouldn't it be possible to see games with poly budgets in the hundreds of millions leaving you with the ability to run 100+K polygon models? PEACE.

I would think as previously stated Memory and bandwidth would be the most limiting factor wouldnt it? But then again if it does turn out that either system can come to this lvl of detail by say the 2nd or 3rd gen of games I certainly wont be disappointed :devilish:

Are you guys sure these are real-time? I'll believe it when I see it.

I believe the game will be way better than these 3 pics, simply because these 3 pics look like a 720p PS2/XBOX game.

Gundan, in the other hand, do look awesome and breathtaking, and are at least 10 times better than these images.

But, are we sure the Gundan scenes are real time ? I´ll believe it when I see it.

;)
