Nope :p Pretty much at the end hehe. Short game, I beat it on 'normal' in about 5 hours.

oh well.... good thing about it is that i can replay it with my existing characters.... so i can just slash my way through second time around... hehehehe.....

There's also a 'Gauntlet' dungeon when you finish the game, have to get through a bitch of a dungeon in a certain time (IIRC).. and if you do, you can play as Drizzt :p

The last level (Oynx Tower) is soooo screwed up, like every enemy drops UBERBEAMSWORDOFDEATH +12 !@#!.. the pacing of the game gets a little off ;)

I'm a big fan of BG:DA having bought it back in 2001. I would recommend playing through the game on co-op mode. It is also worth completing the Gauntlet level and replaying the game on Expert. It is then a real challenge and you have to take a much more strategic line with each encounter, you can't just wade in and bash things, not even with a level 20 character with an Onyx sword.

Last level was very difficult to me although I had the most powerful weapon. I literally ran through the level because escaping was the only way to stay alive longer than few rooms.

Hehe, I _always_ play these games as a fighter, but I refused to pick the Dwarf, so I just choose the Human Ranger and used melee the whole way through. You'd be surprised how well that worked :)

I was actually playing as a ranger, but I was playing together with my wife who was the sorceress character. I guess she picked a lot of the upgrades that I'd otherwise have to pick alone so that made both of our characters failry average at the end. We also had lots of problems with that room with the orb and the skeletons. It was really a pain in the ass to kill them all and took many retries. That and the last level were the two places where we basically stuck in one way or another.
BGDA was also the first game of it's kind that we've ever played. I've only tried Diablo 2 demo once, so our inexperience was probably another factor :)

The orb and skeleton battle was definitely the hardest in the game. In co-op mode it took a friend and I a couple hours to beat it the first time. In single player it only took two or three tries. I found the game to be a lot more difficult in co-op mode. I still played it through twice and beat it in extreme mode though.

SPOILERS AHEAD

The orb room... yeah, that was quite a battle. I think my collegue and my character were quite weak at the time. We tried a few approaches, the most successful one for example for us, was running and using the bow & arrow to keep the skeletons off your neck. It took over an hour I think til we had the orb. The whole undergournd level was quite challenging, those skeletons are so strong.

And Marconelly!, I know what you mean about the tower level. I too found it very challenging and in many rooms, running was always the best option available. One other dirty tactic we used, was get them all into a room with a save point and then fight around those in co-op. So, always when one of the characters got killed, he'd be instantly back into the game thanks to the other character standing near the save-point. This was quite necessary, especially with those big huge robots or whatever they were. We applied that strategy also in the underground level before the orb encounter.

...and i thought the orb room was pretty easy..... depending on your weapon, u can just slash your way through the annoying skeletons and go back to the orb to destroy it.. i cleared that room at the first try...
