the movies in NA psp's are encoded just like with japanese psp's. we cant play their movies, but they cant play ours. but im pretty sure if you put on NA firmware this problem goes away.

Does the firmware affect the region encoding? Does installing US firmware switch it to region 1? I'd presume not, but you never know. Can you install the EU firmwares and get the EU languages?

no that doesnt work like that I believe.

but you can use a japan psp like you would a EU psp. both are region2 and play european UMD movies
(I have a v1.5 standartpack from launch last year)
