Do you want to see how ATI powers creativity, technology, and performance for the world’s most compelling 3D computer games? Looking for some excitement? ‘X’ marks the spot at the ATI Exhibit (Booth #827), where graphic technology solutions across all gaming platforms are on display alongside demonstrations on how ATI Delivers the Ultimate in Visual Experiences.

The ATI Theater (at the ATI booth) will be a center of ‘X’citement throughout the conference, featuring back-to-back presentations by top industry developers on the latest tools, gaming engines and effects enabled through ATI Technology. On the ATI stage, sessions by industry partners including Discreet and Alias will be seen.

Mmmmm, now, let me think, I wonder what that might be a (bad) reference to...?

This should prove interesting. The public should get a taste of what the Xbox2 will be capable of, or at least theorized ot be capable of. It does seem to suggest the Xbox2 at least, but you never know it could be something completely different.

Radeon FX anyone?!?

I mean, we have Geforece FX, we have AMD Athlon 64 FX, i wouldn't be surprised to see a Radeon FX somewhere down the line...

Looking forward to see what next generation will bring us, being Sony, MS or Nintendo, i don't care. Seeing what a high end card (coupled with a nice Athlon64) can do TODAY, i can only start dreaming what 2 future generations of PC graphic hardware can do...

Ati already has the XT series, that would be too much X'es for Ati.
Could be a hint for xbox next, or PCI Express (X-press) or both.

 Yeah, forgot about that...
Then Xmen3 is coming out probably next year... Windows XP.... What's with the Xs everywhere?

You'd think the Xbox was the leading console, best seller EVER, known and loved by everyone!!!

I hope Xenon won't be humungous like Xbox. I also hope they ditch that green vomit sh*t.

If Microsoft ditches the hard drive, I suspect much of the reason for doing so will be to make the overall size of the console smaller. Some think it would be for cost reasons, and I'm sure thats a factor, but they've got to sell more consoles in markets like Japan. The Japanese like things more compact.

Microsoft really made some bad decisions with X-Box 1 when it came to the physical design. A sleek design philosophy courses thru the veins of Sony because of their consumer electronic roots. Producing a universally well liked design is a big challenge facing the people creating the X-Box 2. The top management at MS probably doesn't have much talent or understanding of this aspect of design. On the other hand you hear of stories about Sony's president personally inspecting and judging the Playstation gamepad, and having the weight adjusted gram by gram. I just don't see Bill Gates sitting down in his office and making sensible conclusions on subtle things like the weight, shape, and color of the console.

It wasn't the hardrive that made xbox big, it was the fact they had a full PC power supply inside of it. If they took that out, they could have made the system much shorter. Also they used a ATX motherboard when they could have used something less standard in size.

Mine too! And u should see my PC... Humongous... Bloody GFFX 5900 with 2 (TWO) fans on the video card.....

I think that people think that size is the issue in Japan, but that it really won't help Xbox much there to reduce the size. Time will tell.

Xbox needs games, Ninja Gaiden clearly shows the potential of the Xbox console in Japan.

That's the thing. Sony did such a good job designing PS2 that it looks smaller than it really is. When I think of my PS2, I don't even think of the smaller lower section of it. Design goes a long way, and I agree that Xbox2 needs to improve over its predacessor in this regard.

Some of the perception on size had to be influenced by the X-Box gamepad footprint. The X-Box pad looks like a large chunk of plastic and the PS2 pad has a more elegant sculpted design.

As far as inovation goes though, Microsoft did trump both Nintendo and Sony by having clickable thumbsticks. I'd perfer to have two shoulder buttons (ergonomically curved like the Gamecube pad) and then the two paddles triggers (I've grown to really love the X-Box shoulder trigger buttons) underneath those. The quad shoulder button layout by Sony is good.
