Call of Duty 2 multiplayer finally patched

I downloaded it last night and it now works great. They also added (refined) a few in game features. (see who has the flag, an icon indicating flag is missing, smaller names when people are killed etc)

You can also now create your own room.

yeah, i downloaded this patch earlier...

too late really for me with GRAW fulfilling my online shooting needs for now, and BF2 on the way to supplement it.

it's nice to see they did finally get round to sorting it out though, hopefully it'll have given them a kick up the arse and mean that the next COD comes with a fully featured live component rather than the afterthought that was COD2 online.

Yea GRAW is amazing but to me they are two totally different experiences.

CoD2 is more of a run n gun 1st person (Halo-like) where as GRAW is tactial 3rd person squad based. Add Blazing Angels to the mix and if I have enough time, I can have a pretty fulfilling online experience.

I dont know about you guys but the patch made it worse for me. Now I cant get into any games at all? The good ole patch needs a patch scenerio again?

Personally, the patch is a dissapointment. Lag is still major issue during Ranked matches. Very frustrating to play. When I host a Private game and open all slots to public, not ONE person has joined. Not to mention dreaded "Unable to join host" and "Connection Interrupted".

No new maps too? Just thought there would be more meat to the update. Especially since the online gameplay has been screaming for update for 4 months.

sorry to hear that as I have NONE of those issues. No lag.

The only thing that seems a little off to me is that private rooms are not filling as fast (as you said). The game is now 98% of where I wanted it online as compared to 80% before.

The download was just to fix the lag and new maps will most likely be along soon. (I know they released map packs for the PC recently)
