With development being finished and a release date of the 20th of January 2008, I am starting to get syked for it...

Also it comes out on both 360 and Ps3, with the Ps3 being the Lead platform, owning both 360 and Ps3, Not taking in account of online, how will the 360 version stack up? we will have to wait and see until release...

Some Videos to get everyone in the mood (still being a little early)

It's certainly an intriguing title, with the PS3 version rather surprisingly distinguishing itself more in having more online features than better graphics. That's certainly not typical of PS3 games so far. :D (UT3 being the only other exception I know of, although perhaps you can count Warhawk and Resistance with their 32 and 40 player dedicated server support).

I'm sure though it'll be a great game on both platforms. According to 1up, the graphical differences (in the september build) were fairly subtle, and both games run a rock solid 60fps.

Hmmm... Well I do get 360 games cheaper ;) But still I thought the 360 build was not shown, just told they would be the same, I dont really trust 1up (especially after watching/listening to there podcasts)
But I do prefer the Ps3's controller (I use the D-pad and face Buttons) and the free online (will never pay for online gaming, I already pay for my ADSL plan thats enough...)
Well have to see when its released...

I'm not really all that excited about it. Was a huge fan of the games on the PS2, but now on the next gen consoles, I just can't see much next-gen about it at all. The graphics all seem very drab - a very big difference from the very colourful ones on last generation machines. Maybe the footage I've seen on PSN isn't doing the game justice, but it just doesn't look that much fun, fast and awesome on the level that the previous ones have been.

:?:

Im not entirely sold on the "Open City" concept, I want a clear path (save maybe a few shortcuts) for racing, and not having to pay close attention to the route (and avoiding being rammed into the wrong direction). I hope the Track is "closed" for races.

Even if the city is just a flashy&slow replacement for instant navigating through a menu, i still dont see the point of it. I love the series and have high hopes in it, but I shudder hearing about turning it into "Sims" with cars - I dont want to "hang out" in Burnout, I want to deform lots of metal with no interruptions & socializing.

From what I've read they both look and play completely identical?

Being part of EA now criterion can share their ps3 game engine internally...
So I guess well see better looking Ps3 games from EA :0

Yes, it seems that this information is no longer up-to-date. Initially they only had the free-city dynamic race starting in front of traffic light bit in the PS3 version, if I remember correctly, and now that has made it onto the 360 as well ...

"The demo will be playable online, though we aren't able to hop on just yet as the game tells us that the servers aren't up. Still, you'll be able to join in with your friends and start a Freeburn Online session. Freeburn sessions are where you'll be able to partake in specially designed stunt sessions and the like, but as we can't hop online yet we haven't been able to test them out."

I find it amusing that they are trying so hard to highlight the realtime reflections -_-". It ended up making almost all the new screenshots look the same. I have to say though that I am impressed that a game that looks this good is at 60fps.

an open city, HD resolution, 60 frames per second, yeah, that's going to take its toll on the level of graphics, but that's perfectly fine with me. freeburn and 60fps seal the deal for me. bring it.

I must say, I wasn't all that impressed with some of the earlier footage shown, but that latest gameplay stuff does look might impressive and certainly fun. Seems like Burnout will find its way into my collection this gen again. Yay! :D
