Burnout 5

Definitely gonna pick this one up. Been waiting for a game with crashes this good for a long time.

I hope there are a lot of "unique stunts" to find in the world like the GTA3 games. In any of the GTA games loved just driving around every corner of the city trying to find all the stunt ramps.

The thing is, crashes are not really realistic but significantly exaggerated on purpose. Yet it is way more believable than anything else I have seen. Of course, I am not into racers, so curious if there is anything comparable (PC sims, Forza 2, new Flatout )???

Also there is a preview on IGN.

I saw a video of Flatout: Carnage which seems to have decent crashes (perhaps even better than Burnout) but I am not shure, will download the video of Flatout: Carnage and rewatch.

Flatout: Ultimate Carnage video with some crashes.

Aside from that this game is looking great and even though the cars are a bit to 'arcadish' for my taste I find the crashes satisfying especially the head on wall crash where the car gets a size reduction!

I just watched the Faltout crash trailer, and it is not even comparable to Burnout.
And the fact that you thought otherwise is very unfortunate I would say.
The enormous difference is Burnout actually shows the deformation happening, unlike other games where they simply switch a solid model with a preset damaged but still solid model and some flying parts.

Anyway, I say car shaders are very impressive in Burnout, the chromic lighting is consistent with the general look of the game, and does not come out as technical limitations of imitation.

The only problem I see with the game is that streets are empty, which is a big issue and I don't know why people aren't complaining. Maybe it will be shown later.

Flatout had more stuff going on on a scene but Burnout has the best car crashes especially the real-time deformation which Flatout lacks.

It was speculations since I just had a short look at it some time ago and thought it may be better and hence why I said I was not shure but the lack of real-time deformation was obvious!
