Bloodborne: [PS4] (From Software)

Looks good , that 18 minute preview was what I needed to learn more about the game.

I watched all 18 minutes and don't get the excitement for this game. Except for the big thing at the end, he runs around - with the crappiest cloak ever - hitting the same giant villagers and there weird dogs.

lol, I'm trying to imagine the gameplay as being more fun to play than to watch. But I get where you are coming from. I'm trying to keep an open mind here ;)
It leaves much desired graphically though, I wish it were a little stronger being a first party exclusive.

I'm sure I'm missing nuances of the combat but it looked like the same few attacks and the same types of enemies. I'm sure it's early in the game so the character and his abilities has scope to grow but also I'm sure I saw the character was level 10 in one of the menu screens. I've never played any of the other games, I'm a complete 'Souls' Philistine

me 2 ;) lol I'm waiting for dark souls 2 complete DLC/remaster something something to arrive around April to try that. If it's good I guess I'll get the hype for bloodborne.

Well that was truly meh...IQ is bad, performance is bad (but that's non final code so...), effects are meh, camera placement is dodgy during combat... but worst of all the player animation is simply horrible... thankfully there's TO:1886 Which should be enough for us graphics shores..

The art and atmosphere looked great on the IGN video. But the image quality is awful, particularly on motion.

I think I had never seen so much post AA induced shimmering in a videogame until now.

But the souls games have never being about the graphics or the IQ.

This is the start of the game. Even in DS2 our character starts at level 10. These are the very first enemies. Seems like they are letting the players go easy on the beginning this time. The boss was awesome though.
But no shield means a completely dodge based combat, the bullets to stun enemies seem to be few and need to be found. The opening was super for me, me and my niece were all 'ooh' and 'aah's reminiscing and comparing with our DS2 days.

What I do not like is the voice acting. The character designs are enigmatic but voices sound too 'american' and lack character. But we loved what we saw ! Except for the AA, of course. C'mon Sony Japan , do ur magic or bring MJP over to kill aliasing !

I am buying this now. Skipping Order. My list is now:
Bloodborne
MGSV
No Mans Sky

All others on hold, including witcher 3.

The voices, accents at least, sounded British West Country to me. I felt like I was in a convention at GCHQ.

If you liked Demon's Souls/Dark Souls, you'll get it. It's the same things albeit perhaps faster paced and with a different setting.

Attacks never change for any weapon type. But different weapons can have different attacks. And each weapon type has a very limited number of moves.

It's definitely a game with limited appeal, however. It likely features punishing gameplay (like the aforementioned games). It actually punishes you heavily for sloppy play. Something that most console gamers now-a-days cannot wrap their minds around.

Hopefully like Demon's Souls/Dark Souls it tells the story organically by experiencing it and discovering it, versus being shoved down your throat like most modern games. Like Half-Life. You can experience if you want, or you can just walk right on by it if you don't want.

This is the game I most want to play on PS4. It's basically my must have game for the console. But I'm never again buying a console for just one game. If this game had been a launch title for PS4, I'd likely have bought a PS4 instead of an XBO.

Regards,
SB

I'm still not feeling this game.

Looks lifeless and bland (maybe that's the point, I guess), with an outdated lighting system.
My sentiments as well at least from a graphics perspective. Though I don't want to dismiss the gameplay. My first roll with dark souls will be this April with the rerelease. That will determine my drive level for bloodborne.

Yup, this game has me torn. I want it badly, but if it turns out too difficult, I will end up abandoning it midway like Dark Souls 2. I am unable to go gainst those mobs in DS2. Demons Souls was doable all the way, but those mobs mad me quit.

I love everything I see about this game and I want to explore it fully. Any talk of a difficulty setting?
Bloodborne is being developed by the team behind Demon Souls and Dark Souls 1. Dark Souls 2 was developed by a completely different team.

Zone showed in Alpha test, but this time in daylight:

That scene looked better at night.

Same as above. Using DS2 as a reference is not applicable for Bloodborne.

Oh. Wait I thought dark souls was the original and demon souls was made by another company?
