Bloodborne: [PS4] (From Software)

why the "hit" animation does not blend with previous animation? all of the other animation looks good, but when enemy go hit, a "hit animation" is played, and it did not blend.

TLOU also uses hard cuts between animations in fistfights, but because the fight was so "visceral" and full of nicely placed object/camera blur, it can rarely be caught by our eyes.

The villages are actually built on a gigantic spider's back. Its not visible because of that. It is in a seemingly eternal slumber waiting for its time to be awakened.

Sooner or later someone in those villages will dig too deeply, too greedily...

Every upcoming 1st/2nd party PS4 game deserves a photo mode. :D And pls Sony, implement a PNG image save option.

In the video, you can still notice that geometry is simplified, shadowing is not up to date -no torch dynamic shadows-, the environment is very atmospheric though.

From are more about their art direction, the fact they have the game looking so good when the ps3 and 360 games werent lookers is poof of that. On PC Dark Souls 1 looks great just because of the boost to resolution allowing you to see the world is better clarity

Nice ringing endorsement...

'Bloodborne' Gameplay Demo Will Make You Want A PS4

Everything I’ve seen so far of From Software’s upcoming PS4 exclusive Bloodborne looks amazing. This applies to the latest gameplay demo the developer released today as well, with footage taken from the behind-closed-doors demo at Gamescom.

All told, I can’t think of another game coming to any console that’s more exciting than Bloodborne. If you can watch the six minutes in the below video and not want to go buy a PS4, well kudos to you for your self-restraint.

Also shame on you.

I wasn't very interested in the begging... hopefully the 2015 reviews will change my mind.

Why would the reviews change your mind? If you dont like souls games or action RPG games like this your not going to like them. Its not for everyone

But, this maybe a game that will attract even people who did not like previous souls games. Sure it wont be an easy game, but Miyazaki always tries to talk how game will be more accessible [without offending old Souls fans].

I never played Souls, so I can't say anything about it... and the last RPG that I played was Final Fantasy back on PS2. Usually I like hearing reviews first on certain games, nothing against Bloodborne, just me being curious/cautious.

Bloodborne is a Souls successor with serious bite

Horror oozes from Bloodborne's visual make-up, and I'm glad it's taken this direction. In line with the celebrated risk-reward design of its lineage, the tone of intimidation also forms a crucial part of its winning formula - an area which I felt was understated in Dark Souls 2. Reaching a high gothic spire early on, a full view of the town proves almost monochrome in its black pitches and moon-lit highlights, with everything within sight said to be traversable. And for anything out of sight - all those shadowy corners - there's every chance some wretch will come out flailing.

The city strikes a similar, bleak chord to From Software's earlier games, but it still somehow feels fresh. Cobble-stone streets are beautifully detailed, framed by gnarled housing supports and smog rising from grates; it's all gorgeously lit, and a true vision of how a Souls game should look on new hardware. All that's missing are the souls themselves - and exactly how currency and experience is managed in Bloodborne is still not 100 per cent clear.
