bitboys deliver new mobile 3d chipset

Why is bitboys even still around when they haven't sold a single product?(to my knowledge)

Also, is bitboys just taking money from companies, or do they have actual hardware ready? And really, with PS1 levels now, I doubt they could get up to ps2 levels by 2004, it's only a year away. Plus the PSP will have a backlit screen and a cd player to power, and probably will be using sony technology not bitboys, so I'm expecting what looks like dreamcast ports of psx games.

I'm sorry, but saying that name just makes me giggle a bit. ^_^ "Bitboys"... It's like saying "Daikatana." Hehe...

Seriously, though, it would be nice if SOMETHING of theirs actually launched, launched well, and was worthwhile.

At least Daikatana shipped at some point, even if it was asstastic.

It was a while back, I'm currently doing my best to forget that it ever happened though and erase all knowledge of that flaming peice of crap from my mind.

I cry everytime I see a frog because of it.

I'm sorry I don't understand what you are saying . the bitboys product is for palm pilots. Not a video game system. Although it can be used in a handheld. Power vr also has something as capable as this out in the palm area. How many ps1s are out or ps2s will be out by 2004 have has nothing to do with the success of this product or the psp. The psp will have to live or die on its own as most of the games out for the ps1 and ps2 will not translate over to a hand held very well (I'm not talking about play machanics) Sonys psp may face some stiff competion from an ms hand held and a version of this or even of mbx (believe this is the name of the power vr chip).

On another note its great that something from them is coming out...

Well i guess we will be hearing that duck nukem forver is due out xmass 2003

AFAIK even the G30 is nothing amazing (OK for a Palm Pilot, but not a games machine). the GeforceFXgo is alot more impressive, not to mention the Mobility Radeon.

Not when you consider the amount of power they use and the amount of heat they all put out .

Look at it this way. Desktop , lots of room for fans and air . Thus keeping the chips cooler . Game system. Less room but more than enough to keep chips cool . Laptops. Less room but do to smarter cooling tech they can have fast chips in it , problem mostly runs on a battery. Handhelds very little room for cooling and runs on less advance batterys . Palm pilots very very compact design almost no cooling allowed . Small batterys.

So if you really think about it these chips are very impressive.

GFFXGo? Radeon mobility?

Don't make me laugh! *pffffffff!* *chuckle*

Either of those chips would burn through the battery power available in a palmtop in a few minutes at most, and be grossly overpowered. Laptops run at 1280*1024 res OR BETTER these days. Palmtops, it's almost that 320*200 is considered HIGH res!

What do you need a GFFX or Radeon chip for in such a device? That's just plain NUTS...

As for Bitboys not producing anything... They have developed three generations of graphics chips from start to finish only to have deals fall through at the last minute. Last it was Infineon that got near bankruptcy, thus axing their embedded dram research/manufacturing program. Not really Bitboys' fault.

Do NOT compare them with Daikatana, that is just grossly unfair!
