Binary Domain : Japan's take on the future and Robots !

Recent trailer.

A new cutscene released recently got me super interested in the concept ! The production values are lower than AAA, but the unique perspective and style makes me wanna get it now.

Gameplay Interview:

They might not be technically as strong as the western devs, but this take on Robots has sure got me interested along with the variety of gameplay shown and the setting in Tokyo. Also, there is a trust mechanic involving your squad mates where they might refuse to obey your commands if trust with that member runs low. Personally, I think it might just be an anooyance but I don't know how it plays out.

It sure needs a chk  !

I think technically it's actually good.

Might well pick this up, depending on reviews. It's hitting in that nice spring dead zone. Especially since I'm one probably not interested in ME3.

and I really like the vibe that the robots don' know they are robots, I mean the one's that look like humans and are called "Hollow Children". They think they are human ;) ! Thats a very nice twist to the whole tale !

I'm gonna get this game too as it looks different and has robots. Graphics are nice and the robot designs are pretty cool.

Reminds me vaguely of the Boomers in Bubblegum Crisis. ^_^

What's missing are the Knight Sabers and their songs. :p
"Konya wa Hurricane"

Yes, the manga and anime world is a rich source of material for gaming. Hope to see more of them made into games. The popular ones like Naruto, Bleach, One Piece, Fairy Tales are made for younger teens. I prefer their more mature and alternate take on social issues, scifi, politics, and history.

It's looking like it may be a lot of fun. There are very few games that interest me this year - Mass Effect 3, Last of Us. And now this!

Indeed... The early to late nineties animes were the greatest. Stuff like Akira, Ninja scroll and my all time fav ever.... The Guyver!:runaway::mrgreen:

I'm still waiting for games of all these.

I was happy to see Karas in CvsT on the Wii... however we need to get a dedicated Karas game. Any devs on the forum? Hear me now

The demo is up on the Japanese PSN store.
From what I have played, it's gears of war with robots.
You can upgrade your weapons and equip nano machines to enhance your stats.
Nothing special, but definitely not a bad game.
The graphics are way improved from the Yakuza games. No more blurry image!
The frame rate can get really choppy in some parts tho.
I guess that's my only complaint so far.

We need Shinji Mikami to make a proper Robotech game.

Oh ph*ck yes ! I totally forgot about Akira. ^_^
Guyver, Gantz, Nausicaa, Midnight Eyes, Cobra, and so much more !

If you like Robotech, may be you'll like Gundam too.

Okay ! I will try it tomorrow. Thanks for the heads up.

I am sold on this game, nothing more to say.
I just hope its not too repetitive and not short cause this sure ain't a cave shooter like Vanquish so it can't get away with those two things like Vanquish did.

I've noticed that the metal chunks that break and fall apart when you shoot the robots cause some major slowdowns.

Just played the X360 demo and put in a preorder at Gamestop for the extra MP goodies. The graphics and art are very nice not quite RE5 level but up there. Framerate seems to be good and controls are not bad but I need to get used to them as they're much slower than Vanquish. So far I really like it as it lays a good foundation for future sequels.

Oh forgot to mention that the game supports voice interaction with the game characters using a mic..pretty cool and unique for a TPS.

Already played both EU & JP demos a dozen times and yeah the game is really fun...it's definitely more Gears and less Vanquish but I love both games and TPS in general so it's OK by me.

About the length of the game someone in neogaf that supposedly finished the game talked about 10-12 hrs on Hard...sounds great IMO.

I have pre-ordered the 360 version with two bonus DLC's too. ^_^

Picked up my preorder yesterday before everyone else. The local Gamestop only had one copy come in yesterday so they didn't send out notices until today when the rest of the copies came in...hehe. Anyway jumped straight into MP yesterday and I like it a lot, only a few maps available so far but the controls feel good and the cover system is fluid. Weapon sounds are very nice, graphics are nice too with smooth framerates. I don't get motion sickness from playing this game so that's a big plus. Also played a little bit of the SP campaign and it didn't disappoint, still not as good as Vanquish but that's OK since there's the MP aspect which adds lots of replay value. The voice recognition is kinda cool but sometimes I have to repeat phrases a couple times for the game to register the correct one.

Yes, it is.
Got the game as a freebie from work. Not really digging it, though. It's basically everything I don't want from a Japanese game. Feels like a budget version of one of the many way more competent shooters out there. It's like the design document read something like "needs to appeal to Western audiences at all costs, so make it as generic as possible." The robots are kinda fun to shoot, I'll give it that much.
