Best Company Vehicle ~$35k

You don't want an Evo. You'll be able to keep the warranty on the G35. Trust me when I say that.

Too much money for a 'meh' perfoming car.

but look at the standard features. oh yeah, and go drive one. :)

edit:
btw, it's truely sad that they no longer offer the colour Amethyst with the sport package

Sazar, I agree with all your points (though I didn't know Lexus was so advanced). The japanese sport sedans have really become awesome cars now, and I don't have nearly as much respect for BMW and MB as I used to.

I'm also a huge fan of the G35 Coupe. The sedan is more practical but the coupe just looks so slick. However, the M looks awesome, has all the bells and whistles, plently of power whether you go V6 or V8, and is excellent value.

Motor Trend recently rated the M35 (non-sport model) #1 out of six cars, beating out the 530i (#3), RL(#2), A6 3.2, S-type 3.0, and STS. That's some pretty expensive, high class competition. Other magazines/newspapers/websites are giving it similarly glowing reviews.

Mize, if you can afford it, give this car a serious look.

meh, ive seen lots of car reviewers give top choices to cars that, to be honest, i think stink compared to some of the options they favored less. i think a lot of reviewers must be paying attention to things other than what I care about. I wouldnt think even for a second about trading my car in for a Japanese car, not even a super-expensive top-of-the-line one. I love my car, i love it I love it I love it! (of course, part of that is because it's purple and that gets me LOTS of attention even from people who own the same model)

I'm sorry Sage but I missed your car and never went back to the other thread. Just what car did you get? The car you linked too? If so then that was a sad little rip off.

There's nothing wrong with th equality of the Japanese luxury cars. They are great performers (maybe not Acura) and provide very nice comfort and the features I would like in a somewhat upscale car. The only Mercedes that I see as having what I want in a car is the 500 series and up. And even then you are hard pressed to get a lot of value except for the Mercedes name.

If someone wants a German car you're better off with a BMW. At least then you get a decent driving experience that isn't hindered.

I would love to get my mitts on an M3 or M6 to be honest.

I am more into, if it came to it, getting into an S4 or RS6 because of the quattro aspect and, frankly, the oomph in those audi's ROCKS.

Japanese cars are under-appreciated because most people think of the cheap factor and somehow the german cars are better for whatever reason they seem to have been shrouded in.

I have nothing against german cars but for the last 2 or 3 generations of cars, the japanese have been the innovators with voice-activated controls, built-in car massagers, the swivelling headlights, led's in the dash, drag co-efficients, engine power/noise correspondance and a variety of other things.

I love the E class merc's and if they came out with their diesel powered version at a cheaper price-point, i would buy it in a heart beat because it LOOKS great and E's typically drive brilliantly.

However I have driven the TL's and RL's and the G's and the M's and the infiniti's absolutely ROCK. The acura's feel under-powered v/s their listed HP and Torque rating but their options are ridiculous. BMW's are meh unless you spend some serious cash. And I-drive is the dumbest innovation ever. If other companies can make the same thing so much more intuitive, why not BMW?

wow, you're clearly very knowledgeable on Mercedes products...

sorry, but that sentence kind of made the rest of your post worthless.

...and I still haven't released the pics of my new car yet :D

the 350z is not luxury digi :)

honestly... i do not consider infinity to be luxury, only semi-luxury. I consider Lexus, BMW, MB, Audi, and Jaguar to be luxury; Bently, RR, and Maybach would be super-luxury.

That's the biggest problem Infiniti has. Too many people think the way you do about Infiniti, and even though everyone says they've got an interior in the M that is about as good as Audi and "soundly thrashes BMW", they don't have a history of prestige, and they won't get the sales they deserve.

From your posts (I haven't followed the other thread either), I assume you bought an E350 (or maybe a C320, but they're not very impressive IMO). That's the one car that was conspicuously absent from that review, but you can't always get everything you want.

However, IMO you should be comparing cars by price, not engine class. For Mize ($35 + a bit more), it seems the E350 is out of his preferred reach; however, for business reasons it might be a good investment.

Unfortunately, it seems to come down to brand image in the end.

So is the 350Z considered a sports car then? I really am a bit confused about what catagory to file her under, she's a bit too nice and classy looking for me to quite consider her just "a sports car". :?

I'll trust y'all opinions since y'all seem a whole lot more knowledgeable about these things than I, but it just doesn't quite seem to fit for me.

I always considered Infiniti to be luxury wanna-be's. ;)

When their interiors are as cheap as the G35, then they get the reputation they deserve.
That's just it. The G35 had a substandard interior, and was their best selling car. I'm not arguing why they have the reputation they do. Most people say the 05 interior is much better as well, but I have yet to see it.

I'm saying it's a shame that the M's interior, which is the best of it's price class (or close, depending on opinion), won't count for much due to Infiniti's rep.

Ouch! I never did even go look at one, are the interiors that bad? :|
A "luxury" car shouldn't have metalized plastic as trim on the interior. If you're going to have a chrome, or brushed metal look, make it metal. If you're going to have a wood trim look, make it wood.

The interior on the FX35 was well above the G35, based on little things like that.
