Battlefield 4 official discussion/thread. [PS4,XO,PS3,X360]

What's bacon? And I use the TUGS motion sensor and spawn beacon rather than the MAV

No I don't do frontline fighting, leave that to the other classes.
I sneak behind enemy lines, put my spawn beacon down somewhere out of the way and then proceed to shoot their frontline troops in the back

Or take out their snipers; the great thing about playing on console is the aim assist, i've gotten numerous headshots at distances of 150-250m! with only holo sights.

If I have eyes on a traditional bolt action rifle using enemy sniper and he has eyes on me I'll usually win unless he's able to drop me in one shot, since his high powered scope gives off scope glint making him a easily trackable target wheras I'm much harder to see. Plus having a semi auto gun, I can just sit there taking potshots at him, suprressing him while he waits for a chance to fire back and I only need 3 or 4 hits to kill.

And for closequarters combat, I either stick with my main rifle (holo sight works great for close mid encounters) or switch to my G18 suppressed which can easily drop SMG or assault rifle users with its sheer ROF.

So much fun... I really hope they haven't broken this in BF4. Though I reckon it's going to be much harder to do this style of play now there are 20 more players on each team, you're going to have to be really good to survive long behind enemy lines.

Sorry I mean beacon not bacon haha.

There's no aim assist on pc :(

I use sks as assault rifle lol.
It's silenced, I have mav to spot enemy, I have beacon to spawn :D

Yeah, you have a very similar build - I can't be bothered to use the MAV, so just use TUGS motion sensor instead.

I used to use the SKS a lot (I have 21 service stars with it) but started using the M39 EMR more and more as DICE somewhat nerfed the SKS sometime late last year.

Haven't played in 6 months though, waiting to jump back into BF4.

M39 EMR?
ill try that :D

i never know theres that weapon on BF3 haha.
i even stil use m1911 as a gun :p

too many weapon choice with small picture, small text, and no statistic chard on BF3.

wow interference, i just tried yesterday m39 and its superpower! fees like SKS but kills so fast.
only take 2 or 3 shots :D

i really need to explore more weapon on BF4 when its released the beta haha

That's music to my ear, although I'm not sure if they would keep the visual fidelity of that Angry Sea level since it was run on a GTX set up, well at least for X1 that is. I hope PS4 can maintain it to a much closer degree.

Where are you getting GTX setup? Wasn't that just for Lococycle?

Anyways Peter Moore said it will look like that on Xb1 when questioned (i think he said Pc to XB1 spec, or dev kit alternatively)! I certainly hope as I dont think it's unrealistic, it's what I'd expect from next gen.

I think I already pointed out how a 7770 can handle BF3 Ultra settings campaign at 30 FPS on a PC. No reason therefore Xb1 cant (and then some with optimizing), and I doubt BF4 looks massively better than 3.

Yeah

The only issue is the clip is half the SKS, but the M39 will train you to be more thrifty with your ammo.

Since the SKS got nerfed the M39 became a much more lucrative option

Oh it does...... especially character faces and such.

Here is what Peter Moore actually said about the Angry Sea XB1 E3 demo, written down

http://www.pcgamesn.com/battlefield/battlefield-4-e3-footage-all-running-pc

“[The reveal] was specced to Xbox One, as we said,” replied Moore. “I opened the show by saying, ‘Everything you see today is new code for Xbox One and PlayStation 4’. Battlefield 4, 64-player, I was playing myself, I had the controller in my hands, no different.

But then: “We’re all on dev kits, Geoff, as you know. I mean there’s no final hardware yet and there’s not going to be for a long time, but the spec of what we were playing on is next-gen spec.”

That also seems to confirm what a lot of multiplatform devs. have mentioned. They are coding for the same spec for PS4 and Xbox One. In other words, at least first year multiplat titles should look virtually identical on PS4 and Xbox One.

I suspect a lot of that is just due to the fact that no one (at least 3rd parties) had final hardware prior to E3.

Another interpretation of that statement could be that EA is expecting the architectural differences in the Xbox One to make up for the raw horsepower advantage of the PS4.

So you're saying even EA was expecting some "secret sauce" from MS ey:)? Would you say they are disappointed by now?

It's not "secret sauce" and why would they be disappointed?

They've known about what MS and Sony was going to be including in the hardware and in much more detail than pretty much anyone on the various internet forums. And anyone on the internet forums that know about it wouldn't be able to talk about it.

You'll notice that pretty much any Beyond3D member that has access to both company's hardware haven't entered into any conversations about them. And when they do, they are very careful NOT to talk about either one in a way that would reveal their capabilities. We have developers that work for both EA and Activision on this forum that have access to both companies hardware.

I'd be surprised if that guy from EA hasn't had feedback from his development teams.

Well since on paper there's no architectural advantages of Xbox One whatsoever over PS4, wouldn't that fact be disappointing for EA now that the lowest common denominator isn't that much on par?

There's really nothing to suggest that based on the statements. :s

I've been reading a bit up on BF4. Never having played a BattleField game before, I must say, I think I will be getting this for PS4 as well. In fact, I'm wondering if I should get one of the ones out for PS3 now....

Do it!

If you like MP shooter craziness, BF is about as good as it gets imo.
