Batman: Arkham Knight [PS4,XO]

Nvidia are fine with providing consoles with their physx code, just not their competitors in the PC space.

Aaannnddd this was the PC version... Rocksteady just confirmed live on Gamespot that the Sony trailer which says "PS4 footage" is actually PC footage...smh

WTF ! So, why did they bother showing it ! To hell with all this nonsense :devilish: !
looks like the game is actually pretty far from completion, hence the delay !

If the game on PS4 is anywhere near what they showed at the E3 conference, i will definitely be happy. The sense of scale and density at the same time of the world is just absolutely amazing.

It'll be a miracle if they can get this game running at 1080 30...drop some settings if you have to

I really like the look of that batmobile. Problem is that this kinda stuff always looks fantastic in promotional fotos whereas the real deal usually looks like a piece of garbage painted by someone mentally challenged. I also wonder whether it's the same Batmobile Mattel is producing. It sure as hell looks just like it, and since the Mattel one is "only" 90 dollars, that 200 dollar price point for the Arkham Knight Collector's Edition would be an exceptionally poor value proposition.

I would be satisfied with 900p 30fps locked looking exactly like the Sony E3 gameplay.

With Infamous Second Son as a reference point, I can believe in Arkham Knight at 30fps at 1080p. Based on the story - Arkham being evacuated - you have less of a city to bring to life (no peds, no cars etc) and no crazy conduit effects because Batman isn't a mutant who can suck up smoke and light :nope:

True although there's no real time progression of day/night in Second Som either. Or weather. Looks beautiful but lots of compromises. I'd like to see variable weather in Arkham Knight. Rain. Heavier rain. Fog. Foggy rain ;)

I've not played the first two games yet. Is this supposed to be open worldly with choice of missions or is it more of a campaign with mission objectives to be completed in a fixed order?

First game has hub structure with player slowly unlocking new gear that allows him to return to old areas and open new paths [very nice paced metroidvania approach]. Second game put Batman into open world city, with array of central campaign and secondary missions that can be freely approached when player wants. Third will be same as 2nd game, but with much larger playing field in which player can visit entire Gotham City.

You should play both old Rocksteady Batman games, both are excellent [and prequel Arkham Origins is also very well made].

Brilliant, thanks! I have both games on PS3 - Asylum was a PS+ giveaway a few months back and I picked up City for around £7 in a PSN sale last month. I'll play them in order long before Knight launches :)
