ATI RV740 review/preview

    Is there any info about real availability of Juniper?

    Though this doesn't really fit to this thread, the only rumor so far has been that they will launch top to bottom at once, so everything should be launching this month

    I thought the lower-end 5xxx cards should be available next month. In any case, this 1GB 4770 isn't available yet neither, and shops seem to point to availability very early next month.
    A shame really. The chip had so much potential, could have made HD 4850 completely obsolete (if equipped with faster, or rather not underclocked ram and slightly higher core clock) with a much lower power draw. Ok idle power draw was also too high but otherwise a really good card. But as we all know, it didn't happen, and it might be available now finally but with it not being cheaper than HD 4850 there's not much point there neither. Maybe that makes it the best mainstream card never sold :).

    meh, low end doesn't show up till December Juniper a bit before that (redwood vs. GT215, juniper versus GTX260)

    Heck, I'm expecting mobile parts before redwood shows up. RV740 will be gone very very soon.
    BTW, still plenty of availability over in Europe.
