For CS and COP it should be in DX10 mode or higher. Otherwise through ATI CCC with SSAA (5xxx series) or nhancer/Nvidia.
 
Insane bar the grass draw distance. But tell me it aint the assets I think it is... becouse if it is the vegetation assets I think it is then we are talking 15-30k polygons per tree..

EDIT: I saw there is a patch for map regarding grass..

It is pretty awesome but runs like crap on my comp. For some reason it's really giving my HDD a workout and my HDD has seen better days. :cry:

I am up in the 30-40fps 1440x900 4xAA with some dips down to 25 due to HDD stutter/4-5m polygons from time to time. Though the custom config that comes with it produces visual artifacts like borked distant AO. With my own heavy config it looks much better and no artifacts but with that I hit around 8-10m polygons. I'll take some screenshots.

Atleast here is one with the csutom config that followed but I took the only one that had no artifacts. I'll put up some with my own config later.

Oh I didn't use the custom config, just stock Very High.

Edit: Crap I had texture streaming disabled...
 
Meh looks averge, the TOD has to high sharpening filter valesu which is OK for CRTs but not LCDs. Also borked LODs and visuals but yeah it is alpha going by name. I'll be impressed when somebody does a bench with map layout akin to -> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OE-D36laios

EDIT: Think there is a bug with map making it borked for me... :(

With DX10 I don't get bloom (as per Atmosfear readme), and AA doesn't still work. 4890, Catalyst 10.1 here :cry:.

The mass migration of FPS away from PC ?
^ Thats the view of a pessimist.

Maybe we can settle with one of the following:
a)Started a console phenomenom?
b)The massive implementation of melee, granade buttons and vehicles in console FPS?
c)Holds a continuing trend of stupid, expensive and out of place comercials? :)
d) None of the above.

:LOL: It did start a Madness for it, if nothing else. Thanx to it we had massive flame wars too. But it all happened because it was fresh and brought something new to the FPS table. I don't know about you guys, but I enjoyed HALO:CE a lot :) , but never got interested in any HALO after that. They just got stuck in their own era, and me as a PC gamer wanted big strides in visuals with every iteration.

@almighty: Your screens are completely out of this world. I really feel like being in there right now ;) !


Can anyone tell me how to force 1920X1080 res in HALO:CE ? There's only an update.cfg, can't find any other file with settings in it.

Hey I'm one of the biggest Halo fans around. Been camping with a mauler for a long time now. :p
