Any Silicon Validation Engineers in here?

Also, if anyone is looking for a technical job, consider Intel. It's hiring like crazy right now.
Interesting. My officemate at Caltech just took a position there last October, even though our research is not really related to what they do. Thanks for the info.

I guess I should go for it also, though I'm really hoping my research is good enough to start a company. Does Intel like references from current employees?

Yes it does. The jobs section of Intel is always hoping with openings. If you find one in Oregon let me know. I can walk over to the manager and put a good word in, it should at least get you the phone interview.

Awesome, welcome to Oregon. How about that huge building project.... Hope you find the time to try out the local wines. I am in Yamhill, and no i dont work at Intel.
The new fab is very exciting. Overall, Intel is hiring like 2k new people just in Oregon. So very exciting.

I sometimes wish I drank, lots of local beers/wines. However we live a "dry" life. :(

I wish you the best with that, moving is the most awful/traumatic thing for me. :???:

We moved what, like 8 months ago? And I'm still not quite settled....

Seriously g'luck mate, glad to hear life is going well for you. :)

Lotta really interesting Intel stuff coming out of Computex now, I've queued up like eight tabs worth of stuff over at Anandtech. Both their process and IC design tech are cutting edge and have formed a perfect storm of sorts. I can only begin to imagine what will happen in the next ten years, considering the incredible stuff we've seen in the past decade.

Intel has so much awesome tech, it makes them a really exciting company from that point of view. Unfortunately their morals aren't quite as far evolved, but hopefully thanks to various antitrust lawsuits they've been banged over the head with they're no longer trying to screw over AMD and run them out of business... :p

Where are you in oregon? For some reason I thought Bend, if so there is some (pardon the expression) epic mountain biking nearby. So if you need a hobby :p

Portland, but I have lost 45lbs in the last 3 months and am planning on my first triathlon later this year. I need to get better at doing the 3 events before I enter. But I love the biking around here.

xterras or traditional? The xterras use mountain biking. My brother was more into that, he did the half ironman a few times. Seemed like less fun to me :) You have hood nearby I climbed that last summer. Makes for fun skiing year round.

Traditional. The goal is to do a spring triathlon. Buying the house is being a bigger time sink then I expected. So I hope to get it done. :) Will see.

HOW?!?!

EDITED BITS: And congrats on that, just a bit jelly. :p
Keto diet, easiest weight I ever lost. Sucks for vegetarians, but my blood pressure dropped from something like 150/120 (yes that f'ing high) to mid 120/mid 80. :) Plus I lost 45 lbs, with just light exercise. Just another 13 pounds to go and then Im goint to increase the exercise as I transition to a easier diet.

Thanks, I guess I'll look into that diet. You're not the first I've heard good things from for it. :)

What's your research on?
It's on some pretty amazing stuff. I'm making implants to take this research to the next level:
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/21134540/vp/32950285#32950285 (from 2009)

Last year, the project got its first human subject, and even though a non-optimal implant was used (originally for back pain management), there were some amazing results. Recently, there was a public presentation about it:

There have been some amazing medical breakthroughs in the past and hopefully many more innovations like this in the future. Of course they will all require a lot of validation. Just to bring us back on topic. ;)

Congratulations epic! Portland is an awesome city and you're now on the West Coast with oh so many of us. Bike riding in that city is second to none, even better than here, lots better I can say with confidence. I'm kinda jealous of you right now. I am sure you will grow to love it. LOL I wonder if this means west coast mentality will get to you, do I see possible liberal tendencies in your future? Lol j/k of course. And again, congratulations.
