Any regulars in Helsinki?

I'm in town till Friday on business, but might have some time to soak up the city, schedule permitting. Have no clue where to eat/drink. Need food/beer advice.

Well, I've only been to Helsinki a couple of times but I can recommend a trip on the ferry to Suomenlinna - an island fortress in the bay. When I last went they had quite a nice restaurant there with it's own microbrewery doing decent beer. That was several years ago, however - the only time I've eaten a horse-meat steak even though it was quite tasty.

Lapin Kulta beer is very nice as is Koff.

If you feel like eating Finnish specialties, look for reindeer with cranberry jam...

The only real Finnish brewery that is left of the big ones is Olvi. Olvi Tumma is my favorite (dark beer).

Actually, thinking about it, I've been to Santa Fé a couple of times as well! It was quite nice as I remember and was certainly popular in the evenings.

We also went to Zetor (sp?) once but I can't really recommend that! (Unless you like the Leningrad Cowboys :? )

Yep, that the place! It's nice during the summer to sit outside and eat loads of texmex stuff! AND beer, of course!
