Another math request

I'm currently using Open Office Math, it's clumsy as hell.

I need to show off my maths skills to friends and I can't do it with OpenOffice Math.
I also would prefer to work on computer vs on paper.

Can anyone recommend me an Org Math open source alternative?

LyX has a fairly good math editor and should be quite open-source enough (GPL) for your needs.

Just use what everyone uses, LaTeX. It's the way to go, if you want to write scientific papers.

Word 2007 has a pretty good math editor imho. The beta is free for now.
