Another 3dlabs interview

Not sure if this has been posted already or not  but there is another 3dlabs interview over at Athlon XP.

One thing that strikes me in the interview though is that the supposed gaming variant of the P10 is mostly being driven by Creative. The fact that they have releasing a video card & haven't even updated there audio card drivers in over 8 months makes me skeptical of even trying it.I wonder if they should even attempt at the gaming market so soon ?

When they say 'driven by Creative' they mean deciding on what the product Creative want - it will still be an entirely 3Dlabs built and designed part, just that Creative are specifying the needs of the part. Its also highly unlikely, IMO, that Creative will be doing much on the driver side, more likely they will expand existing 3Dlabs teams to cater for drivers oriented to games.

I guess it would make sense that most of the technical intervention will be by 3dlabs since they are the ones that are building the chip & since they making the design it would be obvious that they can get the most out of it through there form of drivers.

BTW,do you have any idea if there 'Superscene' ant-aliasing will be in the gaming variant ?
