I happily stumbled upon this game a few weeks back.

I'm very happy with my purchase of it. I just wish I could make the text larger, because I can't play it on the TV from the couch :/

Play the game at 720p rather than 1080p. If you are far enough away that you can't read the text at 1080p then you won't notice any loss of detail by moving down to 720p.

This is basically what I do with my HTPC, and games are virtually indistinguishable on my 46" HDTV at 720p versus 1080p at my typical viewing distance. And text is a lot more readable.
