I wouldn't call either the AMD or Nvidia launches "paper launches".

Products are being shipped and bought; but by the wrong people.

Yeah i know, but they could be called 'paper launches' because most people wont be able to get gaming hardware these days. If your not a scalper/miner that is.

    Effective bandwidth [(VRAM×2,17)+(∞$×0,83)]/3

    • RX 6500 XT is available for MSRP (209€) in germany even 25 minutes after launch
    • very low power in 2D - 4-6 watts depending on AIB
    • only 2 displays (also in the chip)
    • Perf roughly @ RX 570/8G, RX 5500 XT/8G
    • limited by 4 GByte VRAM, more severely so on PCIe 3.0 systems due to x4 laneness
    • custom VCN: no video encoder, H.264/H.265/VP9 decoder

    Multiple reviews are up.

Seems more like 580, 5500 XT.

I mistyped my post, I meant 5500 XT (we didn't even have the OEM 5500). It's fixed now.

Yes, but I guess it didn't help all that much.

There is no reason for this GPU to exist.

Well, it does have the same features as the new consoles at least.

Its too slow for them to be of much use and the pricing is just terrible. It's an awful product.

We live in a bizarre timeline. Which, as an aside, I'm sure was caused by some idiot from the future experimenting with time travel to woo a potential waifu and unleashing an avalanche of unintended consequences.

Anyways, I digress. The market is starved of product, and buyers who have been mournfully staring at their empty PCIe slot for 2 years are hardly in a rational state of mind. If this thing stays on shelves for <$200 and offers a meaningful upgrade over an integrated GPU, then who knows.

It's at 300 Euro+ already. Small initial batch went out for 209 Euro so AMD could point to those cards wrt to their MSRP/SEP.

Missed opportunity to make this a neat single slot half height card.

As for performance: woeful. This card would've been okay-ish at $150. But for $200 it's an insult, imo.

Who's buying these cards? Are they useful to miners?

    I’d say <$100.
