Accurate human rendering in game [2014-2016]

The faces look incredible. I wouldn't go as far as to say realistic, more of a stylised look. They all look like they're wearing heavy completely water resistant makeup.

It's only a matter of time until Assassin's Creed Unity gets posted here and we're told how much better it is.

Edit: next technical evolution; emulating porous skin!

That's not funny, actually. Lots of faces in ACU have looked miles better, shading, textures, facial animation, even the general realism was much better in many cases.

These here look like puppets from Madame Tussaud or something. Even the lighting looks rough, not like PS4 at all - which is strange considering that even the Sorcerer demo had a lot of things looking much better.

Not sure i'd say "miles" better, there are quite a few things Detroid does better (eyes and skin detail for example). Until Dawn is still king though.

Locke doesn't look that good, face is a bit plasticy. I like how they made Nathan Fillion though.
 
Yeah Halo 5 is very, very good, particularly in the facial deformations and animation which are nearly flawless. It's all scanned of course but then again Detroit is supposed to be as well.

As for the ACU examples, you've managed to post the only two major characters that are not based on scans :)
 
So that particular model has about 60k polys. That kinda makes me think that the environment will not be as closed off or reductive as one would have expected with that nice sorcerer demo where the guy was made of a lot more polys.

Wasn't the guy in Infamous-SS made of around the same amount of geometry? Could QD be making a more open world game?

So Detroid Kara model is 3 times the polys in comparison to the original demo and twice the polys of B:TS
