A bit of NV30 speculation from Xbit...

Why not the 256 Testiculi  . With a CROSSBOW memory controller and a HUGE DSO( think about what it means), it should wet, oops.. sorry, whack ATI  (for dishumorous people, that was a joke, and it has nothing to do with 3D technology)

I'm not waiting for anything actually. All it can be is a faster version of the r9700 with mabye another feature or two. But when will it come out? It may have kicked the snot out of the r9700 pro but if its now a spring part I doubt it will kick the snot outta the r400 or the refresh of the r300. The whole point is to pick a time frame you want to upgrade , say sept (my birthday is the 6th of that month so i get like an extra 400 bucks). Well i looked at the top of the line stuff . I had a radeon 8500 64meg and really nothing was on the market so I waited to see which chip would come out. Nv30 or R300. We know which one is out. I bought it figureing even if the nv30 is a few frames faster whats the big deal. I got the card knowing it would play all my games fast enough . I knew it'd play ut2k3 with aa and af . I will keep this card till doom 3 comes out. I wil buy a new video card just for that game. Even if its only a 10 fps increase I will buy a new one. That may sound crazy but hey I've been droped on the head a couple times. The problem we have in these forums is no one can be happy with the choice they made. I bought the 9700pro because at the time it was the fastest card out there and still is. Also being anti nvidia due to past problems , I tend to go with other video cards. I'm not a very mature person. I'm a 21 year old kid that likes to get drunk with his buddys down at school and draw things on thier faces when the pass out. But to my credit I have never slipped into the kind of things I've seen done on hardware forums and recently on this site. Its getting bad and I think everyone just needs to chill out and mabye grab a few beers get a hot chick and have a good night on the town.

This is my humble opinion

p.s nvida sucks and ati rules

At the end of the day, for anybody buying an R300 series card now, how much of a bad decision can it be? If the NV30 is that much better, then just live with your R300 until NV30 refresh or NV35 if its the same thing.

I mean playing the latest games with high texture detail and quality AA/AF ands stil being CPU limited in a lot of cases will be tough to live with

Perhaps, perhaps not. 8) Anyway, I think that most of you will agree that this is one of the most anticipated chips of all time.

The anticipation began when NVIDIA's CEO went on record and said the NV30 will be "the most important contribution we've made to the graphics industry since the founding of this company." That statement was made over six months ago, but will find out if the wait was worthwhile at Comdex.
