5million .... no 8 million kinects sold !

I'd be interested to hear how many (%) were returned (or are now collecting dust) due to room issues...I have a fair sized front-room yet it's struggles with 2 player gams - I'm going to try sticking it on the wall behind the TV
The total level of fail in the different setups is probably just beyond words. I have enough spare space in my bedroom, if not, I would not be gracing Kinect with my (supposedly) heartless and too close presence ever again.

Anyways, I think that as time goes on they will allow users to play games at a closer distance, sitting down or just using your hands. There are many experiences that could work fine that way.

This being said, I truly love Kinect, it made me recover part of my faith in good videogames.

The one thing about altering your distance to the screen/kinect is the mic array. I calibrated my mike for about 7 feet of playing space when I was using Kinect Sports. The other night I was playing NHL with my friends and thought I'd try using Kinect as my mic, so I could use my headphones for audio. Apparently I sounded incredibly loud and distorted and it was painful for them to listen to.
