360 VGA cable problems

Wow, finally...

It's all sorted now. Regarding the router, some kind soul on another forum gave me a hand in manually configuring the various firmware settings.

Regarding the display issue, that too is set up properly now thanks to the update via Live!. DoA4 runs @ 1280*1024 (5:4) no problems. As been mentioned PGR3 runs in either a letterbox or scaled to fit, a drawback with the 720p...

A huge thanks to everyone who's answered this thread :)

The maximum resolution of the 360 is 720p so if you see the full screen in dead or alive I bet you fifty bucks the monitor is scaling. To tell the truth I think I prefer just losing some display area to scaling.

I emant to say the 360 is scaling . If the monitor is scaling you will lose much image quality

Hmm...

Well, PGR3 runs @ 1024*768 max (boxed, or scaled to fit/widescreen), whereas DoA4 runs happily @ 1280*1024 fullscreen, going by what my monitor's CP tells me. Whether this is relevant or not, I at least see much less aliasing and I'm sure a sharper iq in DoA anyway...

The xbox360 must be scaling the image then- try running your windows on 720p and let the monitor scale the image to fit the complete size and your will see issues.

My point is: I dont believe the xbox360 can work internally at 1280x1024- else Microsoft would have mentioned it. But if you cant run certain game at more than 1024x768 maybe the other is indeed running at that resolution and the 360 is not scaling ( or cannot scale)- I will try to find out.

bizarre... i remember playing pgr3 at 1280x1024 . (in a very odd aspect ratio :p )

remember actual game rednering is much lower, its the scaler that outputs 1280x1024
so the xbox should ALWAYS output at that resolution
