[360] Splinter Cell: Conviction

"Shoot the thugs" *sigh*

Goodbye real stealth :(

lol, it's the tutorial section of the game dude. I'm sure there's a point just a little further on that say "Choke the thugs"!

Game looks pretty awesome IMO. I've been waiting for a new SC from Ubi Montreal for WAAAY too long...(when did Chaos Theory come out? 04/05?)

05 I believe...But Ubi Montreal were behind the last-gen console versions of Double Agent
I played both the 360 version and XBOX version, and I like the XBOX version more...Totally different from the 360, try it out if you haven't!

It's been a long time since I'm played a SC game, but his voice just doesn't click for me (something I never noticed before). It sounds out of place to me, too old.

They sort of made Sam Fisher look a little younger in this one, or at least it feels that way. Though he never really looked like someone who had a grown up daughter.

Well aslong as you aint forced to kill innocents just to for the game to be action heavy. I want a clean record like I had for Chaos Theory with only bad guys dead.

Lipsync seemed a bit out of place IMO.

Precisely. You can't ghost trough the levels, you have to kill the enemies

No, he didn't ghost through this level. Singular. Your statement is unfounded dramatics. Maybe you cannot stealthily bypass enemies in the game--we don't know yet--but taking a 60 second gameplay segment to make that sort of conclusion is hasty.

I would have thought that all the hand-to-hand takedowns they showed were non-lethal though. anyways, the game looks like it's actually more stealthy now. Especially since you have less gadgets and no silencers. You really don't have the option to go Rambo now.

It's not something I just came up with. It's something that's been known for a while on the official forums.

I have some stuff to nitpicks.

1) Sam doesn't looks as old as he was in DA, he's a guy in his 50 FFS with a grown up daughter.
2) His voice is too hard & low pitched and its even worse when you see that it just doesn't matches his character model in Conviction
3) Odd Lip syncing, again pointing out to the voice. THe lips sync as if he's saying something soft & quiet but the voice is brash.

I'm *really* hoping there won't be any hints like that in the later levels. Or at least the option to turn it off. Good ol' objective button list is all you need. Someone please tell them to stop dumbing-down games.

Its the tutorial level right at the start of the game. they are introducing gameplay mechanics. it will obviously cease later, at least that is what common sense says. They can't have a guiding voice over for ever.

As for Sam, he looks plain stupid to me. As if he just got up from bed, and no one gave him a tooth brush. This series's essence died with DA. I couldn't reach even halfaway in that game. I was playing the PS2 version , though, which I have heard was completely diff from the PC version. But my interest completely died.

But, maybe the more agile Sam, along with Co-op will make it a better game. Not a better Splinter Cell, no way with his monkey antics he shows in gameplay vids, but a better fun game new players will enjoy maybe.
