Not yet. I typically use light heavy and it's variants to try to dismember them. The best thing to do is to try to get off a UT. It's more likely to dismember and also after you get the OT you can't just chain another UT from the essence and repeat.

Which is basically the same as the JP PSN Demo

They all have the same Languages, same voice overs (choosable)

Except for one thing. Head dismemberment isn't in the JP version. But heads don't come down rolling on the floor in the EU/US versions either. They just dissappear.

NG2 came out way ahead of its time (rushed). Good to see they're not slacking for Sigma 2!

The day shots are the 360. A pity they're not doing a Ninja Gaiden 2 Black

I see. Thanks for clarifying. Small differences for me [runs away]

Gameplay tweaks and changes should be more impactful.

Texture and resolution differences pretty much night and day (so to speak.)

I wonder if they'll make a multiplat game before NG3. They have to get their NGS engine running on 360.

acording to gametrailers preview in Invisible walls Sigma 2 is much easier then NG2 less gore/brutal, much much less blood on screen. Overall pretty positive feedback as game being more causual players oriented wich can be bad for HC fans.

Its good news since I found NG2 to be difficult in a cheap way. [Explosive Shuriken feast & the infamous Blocking at the end of Giant Turtle Boss]

Yes, that seems to be one of the key difference in gameplay. The number of enemies has also dropped in some cases, but they up'ed the enemy AI, and added new (mini-)bosses. On the player side, we will have new playable characters and new weapons.

Previously I won't even think about playing it. If I keep hearing good gameplay feedback from owners, then I may look into it someday.

Yeah, I think it's a good call to make Warrior easier, but I'm worried if Master Ninja won't be hard enough. MN in the demo is a LOT easier than the first level of NG2, even with upgraded weapons. I've found the trick is to start an izuma drop combo, but skip the pile drive...just let the combo end, do an on-land XY, and repeat. As in XYXXX (wait, and on land) XYXXX etc. That will get you through the whole demo on MN.

Difficulty created by spamming exploding shurikens is hardly a good game design in my opinion.

I feel the same way about another game, COD WaW. A lot of the difficulty in certain areas is created by a constant barrage of grenades. Not exactly good game design.

Are you joking? MN is very, very hard. Just a right hit of a normal enemy could kill you....imho Warrior indeed is too easy...

I'm thinking they redesigned the difficulty scalling through out the game. In NG2 (M,MN) basically the difficulty starts and ends with the explosive projectile spamming which not only were extremelly random but they completelly obscured the view to the point where it was impossible to see anything on screen.
Sigma 2 seems to have opted for more agile, resiliant and stronger enemies that do not continiously spam projectiles. Of course, this is only the first 10 minutes of the game, things could get uglier later ;).

Based on the demo, the difficulty of Sigma's MN is somewhere between Mentor & MN in NG2, without the projectile spamming but with one hit kills and more reziliant enemies, so what IGN says is pretty bogus and i honestly doubt they ever touched either version's MN mode.

I didnt notice much difference in the difficulty.

Ofcourse it is easier, but not because the enemies cause less damage or because they are dumber or because they are fewer.

It's because they got rid of the game's cheap ways to make the gameplay challenging.

The original's gameplay ranged from awesome to "what have they been thinking" with the gameplay mechanics! Many of the attacks were almost impossible (if not completely) to keep avoiding and guarding.

And come to think of it I wonder how the leviathan boss in the water and the enemies at the river will fair now. These sections were stupid

Ninja Gaiden Sigma went downhill rapidly after the first level and this feels even worse. The camera is worse, if only by its lowered default position. Visibility is poorer. In NG1 they at least dressed the enemies in white, but now Ryu looks (and sounds!) just like an enemy ninja. Poorly designed all around and ugly too.

It's awesome that this series is no longer exclusive to any one platform. No more pretending it ever had something special.
