[360] Forza Motorsport 3

It's impressive that they even got transparancy AA going for photomode. That has to be one of the cleanest looking chainlink fences I've ever seen on console... :D

And before anyone jumps down my throat about PR mode, whatever, I KNOW THAT. :p Doesn't mean I can't appreciate pretty graphics. :)

SB

I wonder how long ago this movie was made. The graphics seem to be an E3 or earlier build?

I'm sure it's much newer then E3 as you can see the guages more clearly etc when the in-car view was used.

T10 will have the much less compressed original version of the video later this week.. I guess we can nitpick it in more detail then.

Yeah, the ribbons are counted as tracks. So far 19 locations have been either confirmed officially or identified through various media. Turn 10 twitter says they have 3 more tracks to reveal, plus one more from Forza 2.

That one from FM2 has to be cobra test track. I hated it so much.

This is a bit disappointing given the time T10 had, they should have had at least 30-40 different environments.

For the development time they've had, I'd say they've been very very busy indeed..

But we will get more cars/tracks via DLC, which does seem the norm these days, to get to 30-40 environments would have pushed the release date back considerably..

[edit]
The build is 2 months old, so newer then the E3 build, but still a bit old..

2 years is a lot of time & its not like they have to start learning the 360 from the base their experience with Forza 2 counts in too.

FM 2 had waaay to few locations, and one of the major pitfalls of the game imo.

20 Environments in FM3 however i think is acceptible, however i agree that its not partiuclarly much given their dev time (FM2 dev time certainly applies to the equation here).

Inside Xbox: Forza 3 Dyno Session and Interview with Content Director John Wendl

For the series premiere I teamed up with "Turn 10" for a behind-the-scenes look at Dyno Testing for the upcoming Forza 3 Xbox 360 game. We bring in a Ford GT and capture the specs and audio which will eventually end up in the game. I also have a chat with content director John Wendl and talk about the challenges of developing for the 360, we discuss the new engine and simply talk tech: Visible Tire Deformation, Polygons, Game Engines and Rendering.

Now you’ll be able to mess with shapes, decals, and alphanumeric characters to create custom vinyls on a blank screen without the need to load up a car. You can even turn on a grid overlay to keep better track of your design's dimensions.

Players have the ability to save screenshots, replay movies, vinyls, paint work, and tuning set-ups and share them online with others. If you find someone who’s work you really enjoy, you can add them to your favorites list without having to add them as an Xbox Live friend, and easily track all their contributions.

IGN has new videos from PAX of what I assume is the final or near final build of the game. The camera fly-by of the Audi R8 V-10 is amazing, the model, lighting and environment quality is superb. Whats more amazing, is the fly-by shot acts as a screen saver until you press a button which triggers the main menu (very sleek) to slide in on the left hand side.

Sorry I don't know what stealth means but you know silent budda that you were trying to be sarcastic while dissing the forza graphics (saying pre rendered was beautiful) IMO.

Mod edit : No, he wasn't. It was a sincere recognition of the implementation of certain shading techniques to generate fantastic IQ on the console, regardless of any game mode. People are creating arguments where there aren't any and repeatedly messing up the forums! If people just stuck to talking about the games, instead of trying to point out and correct everyone elses flaws, this sort of nonsense wouldn't happen.

E2K,

ontopic: damn, the IGN videos are really nice!

Looking mighty fine indeed. The difference from F2 to this is quite striking, especially trackside detail. My 360 will be dusted down in time for this.

The cockpit camera looks well placed that it will be usable. And while those vids are poor quality it seems the world is less "flat" his time around. I wish it was out so I wasn't tempted with Madden or ODST :p
