The Barron Knights version was a version of Matchstalk Men and Matchstalk Cats and Dogs by Brian and Michael, not related to the Quo song
A Taste Of Aggro" (go to 2.25 for the relevant bit)
I did fnd the Barron Knights doing Floyd

ps: for Americans the Barron Knights were sort of the U.K version of Weird Al before Weird Al

I prefer "Big Bottoms" or "Stonehedge". :p

Just got a call from the nurse practitioner of the neuro I'm being referred to and she spoke to the neurologist who told her it was important to get me in asap and they're talking to central scheduling to get my EMG moved up to next week and they put me on the high priority cancel list for any appts coming up. Basically everything I could have hoped for, depression is lessened! :D
Man the medical system can be frustrating. I've been told I could be hospitalized to skip the wait as well. It seems pretty crazy as a plan. Glad you could avoid that.

It just seems wrong to tie up that much money/equipment/personnel so people can be triaged for priority. Aside from my hatred of staying in hospitals it just seems insanely wasteful.

They called a couple of days ago and my EMG is all set up for next Weds and there should be some actual answers after that, might even see if they still need the spinal tap if the EMG is conclusive. :)

Ugh.

EMG and spinal tap all done as of yesterday and had my first exam with my new specialist neurologist. Insanely thorough exam by the doc and then some results, I most definitely do not have CIDP. EMG showed some more demyalination but the spinal fluid tested clean and a symptom of CIDP is loss of reflexes and I right now have pathologically hyper reflexes so that def rules it out. She thinks it's most likely genetic and the next up is a genetic work up which will either confirm or eliminate her suspected ailments.

If it is genetic there's not a lot of hope for improvement unless there happens to be a gene therapy clinical trial that is looking for cases like mine. Figure we cross that bridge when we come to it and if that's the case I'll have to start hitting up academic type places next for answers.

On a happy note spinal taps really aren't any more painful to get than a vaccination, mebbe even less. Very happily surprised. My back is a bit sore today and I've been getting headaches which I don't normally have but they warned me it would happen and told me to hydrate, drink caffeine, and lie down. I can handle that today.

Just an update since I finally had some news. The genetic work up is easy, just gotta go drool into a test tube and have it sent off to a lab and wait 4-6 weeks for a result so next up date in a month or two.
