Is anyone else having issues with Gsync and HDR on the latest few drivers? I haven’t been able to use Gsync for two months now due to signal dropouts. Genuinely considering going AMD, I’d rather deal with FSR nonsense than screen tearing.
Definitely not a cable problem, I’ve tried multiple of my known-good cables. I’ve seen others on Reddit with this issue after 572 released. For me it started with the driver with ‘fixed Gsync flickering’ in the patch notes (ironic). I’m guessing whatever fixed Gsync flickering also broke HDR and VRR in my QM8 TV lol.I haven't noticed such problem (I have two monitors with VRR and HDR). Sometimes it could be a cable problem. I used to connect my second monitor to my motherboard with the CPU's iGPU, but it's having signal problems and I found that the connector seems to be a bit loose (not necessarily a "problem" but just not working well with that particular cable), so I connect it back to the GPU and it seems to be fine now.

The TV isn't capable of doing VRR properly with a refresh rate higher than 120Hz when connected to an NVIDIA graphics card. TCL contacted us after seeing the public early access results for this TV and informed us that they're aware of the TV's issues with NVIDIA graphics cards and are looking into it.
You do realize that people run out of companies with that mentality really quick, or they only selectively apply the same principles to chosen companies when facing issues? (which in turn shows it's not about the issues but personal attitude towards specific companies)I bought a 9800X3D and realized it has integrated graphics. I cannot get the Adrenaline software to work correctly at all. On that alone, I will not buy an AMD gpu. Hadn't touched AMD gpu drivers in almost 20 years, and the first thing I try to install doesn't work. The software works when I first install it and then randomly stops and won't open anymore. Absolute piece of shit.

If I had ditched using company x products after a driver or other similar issue, I wouldn't have been able to use any computers for decades now.
As for your particular issue, I think I've had ever seen two times AMD Software (or previous Radeon Software) stop working and reboot has solved it both times.
So you're saying you haven't had driver issues with NVIDIA? That's a first, I'd say no-one who has used computers years haven't faced different driver issues on every possible brand out there. (also, the driver doesn't actually stop functioning when AMD Software does)Reboot doesn't solve it. I don't have time to mess around with stuff. If I have something that's working, I stick with it. No issue with AMD CPUs. I'll keep using those. Haven't touched intel since the 90s. But installing a video driver and having the software reliably work is a very basic function. Not taking a chance on a gpu. I'm already annoyed it's not working with this integrated video.
In @Cappuccino case, if AMD works better with that tv, then use AMD.

So now we've gone from "absolute piece of shit" to "probably bad luck", see the difference? Sounds like something got borked on the first install if it complained about not being able to download something and commented on "bad driver". Did you uninstall the old driver borked driver before installing new one?I've had driver issues, but not issues that I haven't been able to fix for a month. The issues were also pretty minor and could be fixed with a clean install. This adrenaline software doesn't load at all. Nothing happens. No errors, nothing. I initially installed the drivers using their auto detection package that will do video drivers and chipset. When I first installed, it would work for a little and then eventually I'd notice the icon in the system tray was missing. If I tried to open the software it would get some error about failing to download something (can't remember) and it would say something about a bad driver. Posted about it somewhere on this forum, but I've been off for over a week. Tried again with the new driver yesterday and now it just doesn't work. The gpu driver seems to work, because I have output on my 2nd display, but the adrenaline software does aboslutely nothing now. It loaded when I first installed, but now I can't open it anymore. It's in the system tray, but I can't get the window with the ui to come up. Seems like a piece of shit to me. I don't know. Probably bad luck, but again, I don't have time or patience to mess with this stuff anymore.

Personally I’ve never had a problem with Radeon drivers from RDNA2 onwards. My old 590 was unstable but that’s ancient history now.I bought a 9800X3D and realized it has integrated graphics. I don’t use 144Hz, I’m only at 120Hz which worked fine prior to a month ago.I see a note on rtings saying that the tv can't do more than 120Hz on Nvidia gpus for some reason. Is it actually listed as gsync compatible now?

Yeah, it looks similar to that. The signal drops when my frame rate drops, it’s almost like whatever change Nvidia made to how Gsync functions at lower framerates doesn’t mesh well with my TV.
Like most TVs it’s not Gsync certified, the only TVs I know of that are Gsync certified are the LG OLEDs. Most TVs are exclusively used with consoles so they don’t bother with the certification.
Not that common with recent models (starting with this the appearance of that "downside" I'd say), very common of we're looking at old "Freesync" models.I'm not sure how common VRR issues are with displays and gpus
Don't know why but they have issues with some Adaptive-sync (and VRR?) displays, thus they certify some of them as "G-Sync Compatible" after they've made sure that particular model works fine. The whole gsync-compatible thing has always looked like a downside to Nvidia to me. I'm not sure how common VRR issues are with displays and gpus, but I've always found it strange that Nvidia supports such a limited set of displays as "gsync compatible".
