Yea i would have to say soccer /futbol too , can u give numbers to back this up ? In all the places i've been to (except the usa ) soccer is much more popular than cricket . Hell even in the usa the following of soccer has to be 3 or 4 times bigger!Natoma said:Squeak said:You do know that Cricket is the worlds biggest sport, in terms of people watching and following it?digitalwanderer said:Heck, you know you've been in England too long when you know what rugby and cricket are! :?

nutball said:I can't give you hard numbers, but cricket is very (read: *very* very) popular on the Indian sub-continent (both India and Pakistan).

I seem to recall they had teams at the cricket world cup. They definitely had teams at the rugby world cup - in fact, IIRC, the USA played quite well.PatrickL said:You mean if you remove all non british colonies in the world, and i am not sure than most of them are looking at cricket. USA and Canada have a cricket team ?

Except in England of course, where we're equally bad at all three

I thought England was a US colony... <j/k>
london-boy said:Add Aussie, South Africa... Funny enough, all those countries have pretty much ZERO football following (though they might have national teams, i think every country has a football national team...).
Mariner said:I think that Football is actually the biggest sport in South Africa and is watched by the majority of the black population (the national team is known as "Bafana Bafana" i.e. "The Boys"). Cricket and Rugby are the more elitist sports played mainly by the white population who are in the vast minority.
