Yeah, it was a bit short, and I didn't like the end-boss. Otherwise I thought it was pretty awesome though! Lovely use of sixaxis. But using the sixaxis wasn't cool back then, no matter how well you did it.

Personally, Heavenly Sword wasn't crap compared to anything. From the reviews I read, the main complaint was the 8 to 10 hours worth of gameplay without MP.

More like 6-7 hours, but still one of my favorite games this gen. Great graphics, gameplay and music. The production and acting was extraordinary for a game. Did it live up to the hype? What hype, I don't recall much, I don't remember ant Mountain Dew tie-ins or dev smack talk.

As I cannot vote on polls, I'll put it here that I would have voted 'I'm just not interested in this console'. It is true that I don't think it is a reliable system and that I can play most of it's "exclusive" games on my PC, but were it not for these factors I probably still would not buy it as I prefer to stick to just the one console and I was sure to buy a PS3 for the games.

But you don't get it for free, you paid more for the PS3
Yes, but the BRD player covered that and then some.

Sony is a business. Their purpose is to make money for their shareholders. Anything they give you for "free" is designed to increase other money making ventures. In this case, it's to convince users to pay more for their product.
Is this really required? Everyone has already grasped this fact about a business.

I do like that you can redownload a game you paid for on another Xbox and play the full version. I also like that you can transfer a licence to a new box. And I like that you have unlimited redownloads of content you own, unlike on the PS3 (another one of those hidden costs of "free").
You can also redownload a game an unlimited number of times on the same PS3 console, on up to 5 PS3 consoles. That one-download restriction seems to be for videos alone, but as that feature is unavailable in Europe, I do not know much about it.

Really? Where's the PS3's Mass Effect like game? Or one like Fable?
But every person has their requirements, and yours appear to be met by the PS3. I'll happily take your XBox off your hands if you don't want it. I'm sure I can find someone who does :)
Preference of games is a subjective matter, Nesh has said that the PS3 had more to offer in terms of games from his perspective. That does not necessarily mean he feels the PS3 has a like-for-like exclusive to every one of the (console) exclusives on the Xbox like Mass Effect and Fable II. All consoles are likely to have some games that the competition does not have a counterpart of, including the opposite of your suggestion (that is, the PS3 has unique games in comparison to the Xbox).

For a friend and I, it was around 12 hours. This is were people say he sucks and so do I, but he's quite good. We even cheated and got tips on beating the final boss (GameFAQ). We didn't skip the cinematics.

Unless you're walking around and taking pictures or just amazingly suck at action game it shouldn't take you 12 hours. It took me about 6 hours on whatever the default highest unlocked difficulty was. The usage sixaxxis to to air launch was annoying as was the arrow controlling (which I later learned can be done by thumbsticks :() It's pretty graphics and beautiful presentation came at a very large expense of frame rate and tearing. It's not an AAA title by any means and it's sales and impact on PS3 uptake shouldn't surprise anyone.

I wanted to stay out of this thread as a multiple of multiple 360 owner but the reference is to those of us who have had to use the license transfer tool. Even though all of the licenses have been transferred to the new or "new" console the end-user must still re-download each item that was not purchased on the current console in order for the games to be usable offline, *nothing to do with piracy. For someone like myself that has almost 1000 downloaded items it is not so much fun...

I agree with NavNuc here. My first time running the license transfer tool was smooth, but this last time it wasn't. The first time, Microsoft was suppose to transfer the licenses to the refurbished replacement console before they sent it. They didn't, so I had to use my 1 transfer-a-year. Worked great! Unfortunately that prevented me from actually using the license transfer when I bought a new console since it hadn't been a year yer. Didn't figure that out till after trying multiple times to redownload all my items(over 1000). One nice thing though is if it's already on on the hard drive it will only have to download the license which is only a megabyte or so. Anyway, I finally got Microsoft to transfer all my licenses to the new system since they goofed initially with my replacement. Let's just hope I don't have to buy another system this year.

I will say that as long as you use the same system you'll never have problems with DRM. Even when you log into different accounts that didn't download the items. Also, when you use the content on a different system than you downloaded it on, you'll always need a Live connection & use the original GamerTag too. Not too complicated.

Took me around 6 hours as well, but it was a great game and I'm a pretty big fan of the action genre.
I just don't see how 6 hours is even possible without a huge speed boost on first play-through. It just sounds so out there. I agree it was a great game. It's one of the only games where I felt an attachment to the main characters and their plight.

HS took about 7 h for me to get through, but honestly I think it had content for only 4-5 h, they made it longer by putting ridiculous amount of enemies in each and every encounter... I mean do there really have to be 150 baddies behind every corner? And no jump button!? Seriously there has to be a jumping capability. I liked the game but could't give it anymore than 80/100 and I'm pretty easy with my scores.

Well, I thought the gameplay with the throwing people and stuff around wouldn't have been as much fun with only a few opponents.

Regarding the jump button, just asking, but you did discover the motion control thing where you move the controller upwards to do an in air juggle combo thing though right? I mean I wouldn't blame you if you didn't, I only read about it afterwards myself. ;)

On second thought, it was 6 or 7, but it definitely wasn't any more than that.

Well there's still little bit difference between few opponents and the millions of opponents HS had

I probably didn't know about the motion control thing, but it's been a while since I played it, but I think I only shot arrows with motion controls.

I've owned 4 (3 cores which were all sold straight away and a premium which I sold when the PS3 came out) due to an ordering mix up when they first came out and they all broke, luckily for me I had sold them all on beforehand.

So, I have two reasons for not owning one, reliability and the lack of truly exclusive software. If I wanted to play Gears of War 2, for example (I don't but hey), I would wait for the PC version which I could more than likely run at a higher resolution with more FPS on my PC.

I understand a degree of wandering in this thread, but all those posting about the length of Heavenly Sword must surely see how utterly off topic it is! If HS wasn't enough for someone to buy a PS3, that's their prerogative.

For those waiting for XBox exclusives to come to PC, I believe MS has had a change of heart about that. I recall seeing separate statements that Gears of War 2, Fable 2, and Halo 3 would not be coming to PC. The turning point seems to have been Gears of War PC release, with its horrible installation, mandatory online, and (no doubt) dismal sales. I don't think any 1st party exclusive has gone to the PC since then.

Well there are still many 360/PC games.

Because there is a Microsoft label on that thing and there is no way I'm gonna support them making the same mess they do with the computer world to the console gaming world.

And besides that I already have a heater at home!

I really never understand this kind of attitude. I really don't. People somehow are perfectly happy to buy products made in countries that employ slave labor, yet they will avoid other products simply because of the company on the box. I realize brand avoidance exists, especially towards Microsoft, as ever single rabid Sony fan that I have ever worked with has been vehemently anti Microsoft. Yet to this day I still don't understand it. Likewise on a/v forums you can find similarly primitive anti Sony sentiments, where people will avoid their products just because of the brand. It just makes no sense to me, I can't imagine living with such huge blinders fused to my head, it seems so incredibly limiting and downright primitive.

But whatever, their loss.
