XBox Ultimate Game Sales, Summer of Arcade

Az and Rob seem to be playin it a lot lately. ;)

I think I'm not going to get TMNT:TiT... the demo just... didn't feel right somehow. :s

LOL, I played it one night to completion. Yes, it was really fun. Not sure $10 fun, but fun nonetheless.

I played the demo though yesterday too (coop with a friend). The controls are not as sharp as they used to be in the NES version, and the new graphics are not as clear as the old ones. Sometimes it's hard to see who is who (in coop) and what direction you are facing. Otherwise the graphics are nice and the game is pretty good. However the demo started slightly to repeat itself at the end, so the full game might suffer a lot of this problem. According to Metacritic: IGN gave it 59, Eurogamer 70, GameSpy 50, GameTrailers 61 and TeamXBox 88. Turtles metascore is currently 66. I expected a bit better I have to admit.

Maybe why they pushed back the release date & dropped the price.

It looks fabulous, but remembering the arcade I think GameTrailers review is right. It hasn't got any staying power now. You just hammer the X button until you complete the game. Back in the day, TMNT was cool in letting you play a Turtle, but now we've done that, this retrofit offers nothing new. If there were no turtles here and it was a generic IP, would anyone rate a single-button side-scrolling fighter highly these days?

Every time I see Splosion Man all I see is Cloning Clyde, so much so that I haven't even played the trial or even come close to buying it. I should add that we love Cloning Clyde in this household.

It's similar, but CC is more of a puzzler than SM. The novelty of sploding yourself is fun enough to at least check out the trial, but I agree: love Cloning Clyde.

Eurogamer gives Trials HD - 9/10
Can't wait until Wednesday.

Looking really good so far for us :)

GameCinemaHD: 10.0 (http://www.gamecinemahd.com/article/2009/08/10/fact-and-opinion-gchd-reviews-trials-hd)
TeamXbox: 9.2 (http://reviews.teamxbox.com/xbox-360/1749/Trials-HD/p1/)
Eurogamer: 9.0 (http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/trials-hd-review)
Eurogamer Spain: 9.0 (http://www.eurogamer.es/articles/trials-hd-analisis_7)
Official Xbox Magazine: 9.0 (http://www.oxm.co.uk/article.php?id=12790)
Games Master UK: 8.7 (magazine - Sept 2009, p.82)
IGN: 8.3 (http://xboxlive.ign.com/articles/101/1012642p1.html)

IGN didn't like it because they thought it was too difficult. The game basically requires at least 10 hours of training before you should start to play the hardest tracks.

Last couple extreme tracks in Trials HD are kicking my butt.

Great game though. There's so much content. I haven't even messed with the level editor, skill games, or tournaments yet, and I've already sunk about 4-5 hours into it. Really like the leaderboards integration and the ability to view other peoples replays. Graphics are very nice, especially the lighting. Awesome work Sebbi!

Very impressed with Trials HD! This game is FUN!!!

Instant track resets are awesome. The medium level tracks are starting to kick my ass.

Wow sebbi. What a game. This is very impressive and VERY hard. I got to the hard levels and on quiet a few, I can get to the end of the level, see the checkpoint but can't clear the last obstacle. I hope you lose sleep over this

Seriously man, major props to you and your team. The user response of gaf has been great also and I'm hoping the sales come through for you guys. Well deserved.

I have to try and finish the hard levels tonight, and then tomorrow I'll torture myself with extreme. I haven't looked at the map editor yet, but I have a guy on my friends list that is a Trials maniac, and I expect him to come up with some good stuff. My plan is to try and build at least one level, and I have some sadistic plans for it. The problem will be balancing the difficult. Since I am not amazing at the game, it will be hard for me to play test anything that is meant to be in line with "extreme" difficulty.

yea I DL the demo and Trials HD is wow, amazing game... beautiful to look at, so simple yet complex and really hard to master. The friends list features, saved replays and sharable custom maps make this a no brainer purchase.
