SPOnG's anonymous source said:"It gives you instant access, globally, from whatever you’re doing, to your Xbox360 menus. They’re going to show it at the E3 conference in all its glory, but in a nutshell, if you’re watching a DVD, you’re still signed into your Friends list, so you can still be invited into games, discussions and other Live events. You’re always connected to the community. It’s like the interactive button for digital TV. And this really is the key factor to bear in mind with the upgraded Live system. It will be a lot more like a digital TV experience, just more interactive. Microsoft is looking at the viability of Live competing with the set-top box and this Xbox 360 button in the key to this."
Anyone else use WinXP Media Edition? This just sounds like all the fuss they made over "The Green Button" on the media centre remote control.........so effectively the Xbox360 isn't just a PC in a small box, it's a HTPC in a small box!AzBat said:According to Spong it's a near finalised design that was included with the dev kits.
They've been told the missing button is called the "Xbox 360 Button". Their source says the following...

The controller is a supernes controller with fins and two extra shoulder buttons (dual shock of course has the dual shock)What do you mean by "hacked super nes controller"
It doesn't matter what it calls its buttons . Its still the same basicly idea. A directional pad with other buttons .At least the Dual Shock doesn't name the buttons A, B, X, Y
That is the flaw that I will forever find in new console controllers until they stop making Street Fighter games on consoles.blakjedi said:People havent learned yet that all console controllers after the Super Nintendo should have six (6) face buttons arranged in two rows on the face?
H-M-L - P = Row 1
H-M-L - K = Row 2

Sometimes 2 + 2 does equal 4. It "ripped it off" in a way I don't think I've seen any pad do untill Sega's Nights/DC pad layout became pretty much the template for ... well, eveyone else.
But so what. If an idea is good, others will pick it up and run with it even if the originator abandons it for whatever reason.
