XBOX 2 controller pics

There's a thread over at gaming ages discussing these pics. Some think it's fake, some think it's real. I personally think these pics are 100% legit and falls in line with the small pics from ourcolony.net. It also falls in line with what has previously been described regarding the black and white buttons becoming shoulder buttons.

I think the color of the console will be a base white that can be changed with different face plates. Or the white version was created for the japanese market and will primarily be sold there.

One thing that hasn't been mentioned at gaming age, is that this appears to be a wireless controller.

Yeah, looks real to me too.

I think it looks good, glad they turned the black/white buttons into shoulder buttons. It looks a little simpler than Xbox's, less fussy, which is a good thin in my book. Hopefully the final product will come in as polished/glossy a finish as these appear to, and that the console sports a similar finish too.

It is very ugly.
What is the ball(s 3?) in the the midle of the controller? Start/ :?: /Back ?

Not sure what the two smaller circles on the side are, but it's speculated that the middle circle is a button for turning the controller on and off (note that it is wireless). When you press it, the ring around it lights up in a shade of green. Ties in with the whole "circle of light" marketing slant that's been rumoured, "Xbox 360" etc. etc. Expect a slew of circle-related imagery and PR ;)

A trackball would have been nice. I think it looks cool! The our colony website seems to hav ea few picturs with plastation 2 and PSP ion teh background. It's like a bit of a joke.

I kinda like it. Reminds me of Dreamcast's controller without the VMUs. Although I think they should change the color of the analog sticks, the black clashes too much with the rest of it, IMO. Maybe a light grey.

Try select, start, and 360 logo/power button IF it is indeed wireless.

I don't think they could possibly make it more tacky. Since when did consumer electronics come with their plastic components coated in gloss varnish?

Looks nice and ergonomic to me. More rounded than the current contoller S. That's why I still use the Duke, it doesn't dig into my fingers like the S does. Love the B and W buttons on top too.

iPod?

From a functionality point of view, the controller has evolved in a smart direction. Removing the awkward black and white buttons to have less cluttered access to 4 jewel colored face buttons is good house cleaning. A total of 4 shoulder buttons makes sense. Two of them being triggers rocks. On the current X-Box controller I really like the feel of the shoulder trigger because it sort of mimics a gun trigger. For first person shooters like Rainbow Six it works really well. Especially with the rumble feedback that does a good job of inducing a sense of weapon recoil. If wireless is built into controller, that's really slick. The cherry on top would be if they've managed to improve upon the force feedback rumble effect.

Exactly!!!!!

Most of all, I can't stand the white and black buttons on the S being so much more difficult to push because they're pretty much level with the surface of the controller.
