X-Box Live: Cheapest Source for Subscription Card?

Hi! I just got an X-Box 1, and would like to try X-Box Live for it. I don't want to buy the whole "Starter Kit", and it doesn't seem likely that I shall soon buy any games that come with the "Free 2 Months" card inside.

So I was wondering if any of you knew a good source for cheap subscription cards? I tried Google, a 12-month sub was $44....think I could get anything a better value?

I wouldn't bet on a better value. Be careful though. I can't remember if the new 360 Live subscription cards work on the old Xbox. If I were you I'd look for the old ones just to be on the safe side. Plus, if you look locally you might find stores are clearancing those cards. Just make sure they don't have an expiration date.

A while back I brought some X-box 12 month LIVE subscription cards off e-bay for $25 each. It was for x-box 1, which I used for xbox360. It was fine. I think it doesn't matter, if you're using it on xbox1 or 360. But don't quote me on it. )

Wasn't there some kind of hotmail deal? Sg. like "Register and get 1 month of free Xbox Live"?
