writing geometry shaders

I'm wondering if G80 release means anyone can write and run geometry shaders on G80.
Game developers with agreement with nvidia already do, but is it available for everyone now?

I think new opengl extensions were not published yet.

There's sw rasterizer in dx10, but does dx10 run also on G80 hw, do public nvidia drivers for vista support dx10?

Nope, and I'm not sure a driver will be readily available until January either, and they might end up waiting until very close to the public release of the OS before throwing something out there, to let them spend as much time on it as possible.

Plus it's possible even if there was a driver that the current SDK isn't quite suitable for developing with hardware acceleration.

So, no real hardware-accelerated D3D10 development can be done right now, sadly.
