Worldwide Launch

Hype can be good for those with their feets on the ground if you relate to the tech cause i think no human is immune to it neither and it has it positive side-effects.
Im not really talking about any special forum or about fan-boy arguments and even worse hidden fan-boy arguments.
Well I am talking specifically about this forum, and if we only had people with their feet on the ground relating to tech then they would be looking at 360 with simply as one of the most interesting and innovtive 3D architectures to date, and people would probably be looking at PS3's CPU in a similar light (although I'd expect that more of incumbents of ARS than here) - given the site I run, that was foremost on my mind when I decided to get a 360, and similarly when I got a PSP as it represents the pinacle of handheld 3D right now.

However, far too often we don't get that, we get poinlessness about which company is more evil, which optical format is best because it relates to one fan-boys hardware of choice more than another, ppintless barbs an snides comments dropped in threads, etc., etc.

worldwide launch!
so i take it i can go and buy a xb360 here in australasia
ie how can it be a worldwide launch when its available to less than 20% of the worlds population
Because it's available to the <20% of the world's population that really buys games. It's a worldwide launch in the same way that the Super Bowl is a "World Championship", despite the fact that only Americans watch.

I think it's a step forward to treat European gamers just as well as North American and Japanese gamers. 3-4 months down the road when there are plenty of X360s on shelves and gamers in the EU can look forward to playing some great titles like CoD2, PGR3, Kameo, Oblivion, FN3, GR:AW, just like NA gamers, MS will start to reap the benefits of the worldwide launch.

While EU gamers are playing Gears of War, Splinter Cell:DA, and Winning Eleven on their new X360s, PS3 will not even be launching for another 6 months. Not exactly the way to win over European gamers Sony.

im not 100% sure, but reasonable sure,
australia was the second best performing market for the xbox1 (percentage wise)
and this is how MS rewards them, by placing france etc ahead of them in the queue.
though if the xb360 does make it down here in march its done far better than sony with the PSP, that took ages to arrive down south
