Will the xbox 360 core make any difference in Japan?

News has come out recently that microsoft will start selling core units bundled with Ninety Nine Nights and Project Gotham Racing 3to Japan for $86 dollars cheaper than the premium.

Was it a mistake for microsoft not to sell the core from day 1 in Japan?

They're in competition with the Wii regardless (if you could call the current scenario 'competition'). They're better off being in competition at a lower price than a higher one dont you think?

I think the real question is if the market perceives this as a higher-value product then the premium alone was...

I don't see much saving the 360 over there. Maybe there will be a spike in sales when blue dragon and lost odyssey come out but that is about it...
