Wii HW unfinished?

Dev had been said that it PS3 is more powerfull, not that much but...

As per the GPUs Starbreeze said the reverse (at least for their game), but I think depending on how you design your graphics engine it could go either way...

Overall dev said that overall the PS3 is more powerfull, anyway I dont think that a feature comparition can give we a good form to decide how wins plus you need to consider many more things like Cell, I mean if Xenus only had 16 ALUs I think that none would say it is superior, for me all that matter is the final look.

Anyway I am really interested in know if this would be possible with a extension of the flipper and the TEV unit(s?).

Rumour time..
What a worthless pile of stinking lies.

This is obviously not 'information they have received from a credible inside source', but rather just shit that that "editor" made up on the spot.

The site's completely unknown, until you just linked to it I'd never even heard of it. The whole piece - which I didn't even bother to read through all the way because it was so obviously totally fake - strikes me as an act of desperation on behalf of the site owner(s). PLEASE give us hits! We'll make something up to make you happy!

BTW on wii gfx.

I really liked the caracthers and shadows them they are like RS (trailer) ones which make me think it they are hard wired or use some special HW functions for it, anyway for what it is it looks good IMO, now I wonder if they can get that qualitity within big complexity.

Eh, that game doesn't look like anything gamecube can't do.

Yeah even GC can output really good graphics, remember that Rebirth demo at TGS?

Well, that was FMV, but anyhow, the golf game graphics don't even look spectacular as far as real time goes, let alone FMV.

Most of Rebirth was FMV, but there was a short section that was realtime, but yeah tht golf game looks ike it could be done on DC.

Boy, isn't that a ******'s wet dream?
At best, I could see Wii being comparable graphics to xbox 360, but at standard res rather than HD res.

Actually that's exactly what the site claimed, equal at STDV, it doesn't claim Wii supports HDTV.

How do you find these sites?

That one was on IGN I think.

The site isn't unknown to me, not that it matters, I only posted it as a rumour and I certainly don't put any stock in it.

The game in the video looks much better than in the ss, plus I doubt it can do (at least never saw none) such good shadows in GC.

I actually never saw that movie (cant find it anymore) but I just saw some ss and this

So all I have to say is #%&$# Crysys and DX10, this with 50%+ is all we need for the next 10 years:LOL: .

A few more things should came

http://revolution.ign.com/articles/708/708948p2.html

Taking in acount that at E3 MP3 looked like a somewhat beter textured MP2 without this kind of fxs it should improve by a good margin once they got all runing (at least in a later iteration with bump maping).

Pretty sure gamecube could do bloom as well (need for speed underground, perhaps rebel strike), isn't that a feature accomplishable on dx8 hardware at the least?

BTW, I can't name a single game on gamecube that looks as good as the rebirth demo. Maybe with unlimited texture memory they could pull it off, just like some of the early n64 demos were fantastic looking and ran on n64 hardware.....except they had 64MB of memory instead of 4MB.

Yes, it should be able to do bloom, the question is at what cost, it should be (relatevely) high as few games use it, I think once you can do perpixel lightning you can do bloom.

It would be interesting in knowing what is needed to reach that level after all current gen gfx is very limited by RAM, BW, CPU if the others are stroger we would probably saw results much closer to this. I really hope they end up with 128Mg.

BTW IGN does have a direct feed video of MP3.

You can get the Rebirth demo at http://www.mix-core.com

The link to the MPG doesn't seem to work though.

Mix-Core is the CGI company that did the demo.

Mix Core recently elaborated on its Gamecube demonstration entitled, "Rebirth." As IGN reported in September, a portion of the video that was once thought to be pre-rendered is indeed running in real-time on Gamecube's hardware. Mix Core claims that not only is a part of the Rebirth demo running in real-time, but the entire cinematic sequence would have been made in real-time if the team would have had more time to produce the game.

You don't need any particular hardware features other than the right alpha blending mode support... Bloom is easily implemented as a low-res texture of the full scene stretched on top of the entire screen. It's a bit of a fillrate killer tho with a transparent quad covering every pixel, and Cube doesn't have too much of that as we know, so no wonder if not too many games use it.
