When your Xbox stops playing nice..

I have a problem..

I've been enjoying GTA IV for a couple of days now, really started getting into the game when a big problem struck..

Aside from the fact that for the past 3-5 months i've been wrestling to squeeze gaming on my 360 in between the hundreds of hard locks, resets & disc read errors the box started throwing up (even completely refusing to play Lost Odessey outright just after i started on the second disc..) things haven't been too bad but just two days ago I got a RROD..

I did a reset & i got a couple of error screens showing a load of writing before i turned the thing off & left it for a few days..

Turned it on tonight & it seems to be working fine except..

The drive won't open..!!

No matter what i do i can't get it to release my GTA disc sat in there & would have pryed it open if not for the fact that it's still under warranty after it went in for repairs the last time..

Any ideas what i can do to get the disc out..?

At this point in time the game is pretty much all i care about as i've had it up to here with sh***y refurbs & would rather go out & buy a new £150 arcade & just transfer my HDD, controllers & cables over..

(Not before throwing the old box at the wall though mind you..)

Just get it repaired, dont keep trying to band aid it. If you had RROD that's covered free right?

Does the drive try to open? If it does try pushing eject and then just move the tray up or over with your finger (up if box horizontal, right if box vertical).

I'm not sure what it's doing..

On the dash board when i press the physical eject button it displays the "Opening" text however the tray doesn't appear to move & I can faintly hear the disc spinning constantly inside from the second I turn the machine on to after i turn off the power..

I feel for you. I finished playing GTA IV, just started pigeon hunting when the PS3 spun up and the game hanged. So I tried turning it off, nothing happened, so I pressed eject. Got the disc out and the PS3 shut down. Fine. Except now it won't load any disc. :S bad thing coz I am on sick leave and I just ordered 3 new games.
