I've been listening to a lot of Orphaned Land, lately. Ever since I saw them live a few months back I can't put them down. They're an Israeli metal band that has a lot of neat Middle Eastern influences in their music.
Orphaned Land- The Path pt. 1: Treading Through Darkness
Opeth has remained my favorite band of all time for as long as I can remember. Mikael Akerfeldt's musical prowess is unmatched, and his blues influence in apparent in almost every song he creates.
"Ghost Reveries" is Opeth's most underrated album. It's a fitting outro for long time drummer Martin Lopez and Peter Lindgren. Lindgren became an IT consultant in Sweden and Lopez left the band due to health related issues. However, I read recently that Martin has been drumming, again, in a new band.
The video - which seems to be unofficial, if that's applicable in this case - is NSFW and contains old b/w footage of naked ladies and whatnot.
The music is interesting though. I'm not sure what the genre might be called, it's not my usual choice of style, but like I said... I found it interesting when I stumbled over it on the web.
