What are you playing now? [2007-2018]

Actually, I felt the discrete stages were the best part. With a few exceptions, the rest was just ugly and a lot more of the same. The ending is very good, though.

Oh no, I couldn't disagree more.
The stages felt like a tutorial for the rest of the game IMO.

No, just a taste in games that doesn't revolve around accepting shit.

I agree but one also needs to play the games to for final judgement. Atleast the variety is great on the PC. There's atleast several good games in each category. Sadly I can count the good games on one hand for other individual platforms.

Just finished Mirror's Edge (PC) on hard without killing anyone.
Awesome game, like Portal but with prettier levels and no portals ;)

Too bad you have to play it on normal first. The runner's vision ruins half the fun and I used the goal-finder (alt-button) way too much which ruined another half (but still leaving two funs left).
It is quite a bit on rails, but I was having too much fun to care.

1701 A.D. (Anno 1701 outside of U.S.). One of the most under-appreciated underrated games ever.

Just finished a very cool adventure game, "Runaway, a road adventure". Somehow I missed this game years ago and just came across it recently by total accident. It's a bit of a pixel hunter, but the story is cool and the graphics are great. It has a very satisfying ending as well. Overall a very well done adventure game.

Good game, there was a sequel to it also. I can't remember if they stopped at 2 games or went onto a trilogy for the series.

Picked up Prince of Persia yesterday and played through the tutorial. The new graphics style is nice, gorgeous at times, but sometimes introduces annoying flickering and aliasing (mostly with vegetation). Also I find that depth perception is worse.

However the controls and the way the character moves feel totally weird to me. I've just recently played Assassin's Creed and that game really plays like the old PoP games, but the new PoP feels different and not in a good way. Maybe it's just a matter of getting used to and I will try my XBox360 controller instead, but still I'm unpleasantly surprised.

But the absolutely worst thing about the game is the new voice of the prince. He sounds like an american teenager (as does the girl though not as bad). WTF?! What idiot cast that guy? He doesn't fit the role one bit.

Maybe my opinion of the game will improve when I play some more, but right now I have the feeling that this is another great franchise that has bitten the dust.

Make sure you don't have any sort of AA forced by the driver.

I wouldn't even attempt to play this game without a gamepad of some sort. The 360 pad worked beautifully for me.

I know what you mean about it not feeling like the SoT games; I much preferred the control scheme from those, with separate buttons for separate actions. The new scheme certainly feels more noobified (as with everything else in the game). The wall run doesn't feel as smooth either, like the Prince is snapping onto the wall in a predetermined fashion.

Agreed, he sounds like a total asshat.

Despite all that I thoroughly enjoyed the game. :smile2:

Yeah, that pretty much nails it. Gone is the smoothness and elegance. So far the game really feels nerfed.

I will try to really give it a fair chance, though.

I'm considering buying Age of Conan. Has anyone played it? Is it worth it? I'm hearing a lot of mixed reviews about it.

bad game, mine is sitting on the shelf for months. many broken promises, bugs, broken systems.

I'm playing Dawn of War 2 Beta and it's awesome.

I finally beat Saints Row 2 and now I'm just alternating 'tween replaying GTA 4 & SR2. :)

Don't listen to the naysayers, Saints Row 2 is an incredibly fun game if your PC can run it.
