Vista Readiness Advisor, how much does your computer suck?

Given that the min spec is a 32MB shader model 2 GPU with 800Mhz CPU & 512Mb RAM, I think its safe to call that min spec for vista.

So an x1900xt, 3200+ @ 2.60ghz, 3gb of ram, and more than a tb for my Windows array just barely scrapes into view, not even hitting the 'minimum' line?

Give me a break. I didn't stay around to find out, but I bet something pops up saying "YOU NEED TO BUY ALL OF THIS RIGHT NAW!".

Smells like bullshit to me. :devilish:

Why would you think otherwise?

WTF are you people smoking?
The listed min spec on that tool is
myself said:
a 32MB, shader model 2 GPU with 800Mhz CPU (single core) & 512Mb RAM

My 2.4ghz conroe + 2gb RAM + 256MB x1900gt gets a flying full score, meeting or exceeding the 'optimum' requirements of 1Ghz CPU (single core)+ 1GB ram + 256MB shader model 3.0 GPU

Thats odd, as my system (X1900XT, X2 4400+, 2G Ram, 2*74G HD, DVD drive) isn't too far off from yours and I exceed the Optimal settings.

From their chart
min settings: 32M DX9 PS2.0, 800Mhz P3 or Athlon equivalent, 512M ram, 20G hd, 15G free
rec settings: 128M DX9 PS2, 1Ghz P4 or Athlon XP, 1G ram, 40G hd, 15G free
optimal settings: 256M DX9 PS3.0, 1Ghz P4, 1G ram, 40G hd, 15G free

I have a ye old ATI 9600 in my machine right now, (2 higher end cards died on me), and I meet the min spec.

X2 4200+, 1GB ram, lots of hard drives, etc. Only think keeping me from prem spec is the video card, they recommend a 1600, lol.

Bubbles passed with flying colours.

Bubbles 3500+ Newcastle @ 2.4Ghz, Asus A8R32-MVP, OCZ EL platinum rev 2 1GB (2x512MB) PC3200, 2xATi Radeon X1800GTOs, Audigy2, Altec-Lansing ADA885, DVDR, 80GB, 200GB, 200GB

Hmmm...it seems that if I had a pixel & vertex shader 3.0 video card, I wouldn't have failed the optimal part. Otherwise I passed everything else...

What a great marketing tool. Make people think they have to buy your hardware in order to run Vista decently, what bullshit. :D

It told me my 6800GS was not good enough for recommended. Yet it easily meets all of what it said it needs and they decided that recommending me a X700 would be better. Talk about worth a giggle.

Core 2 Duo @ 2.18Ghz
1GB DDR400
Asrock 775Dual-VSTA
6800GS 256MB
Over 200GB of HD space

Yeah, I'm fairly certain I meet the optimal.
