Judging by the hardware chart; PS3 has already outsold the Xbox 360 in total units in Japan.

Uhh, you're a bit late. Lifetime media creat sales are around 330k for 360 and 720k for PS3.

I believe PS3 overtook Xbox 360 already well before new year, so making noise about it now, is a "bit" late.

As everyone else said, why would this be a surprise? I thought they outsold it weeks ago. Anyways, I also thought VGCharts weren't exactly reliable source of sales.

PS3 passed 360 in Japan back in early December - this news is old.
