Unreal Engine 3.0's impact a bit over hyped?

Is Renderware even still going to be licensable anymore? Last I heard, even studios that were having games published through EA weren't going to license Renderware because they figured it wouldn't be an option at all anymore.

If I remember right yes, EA wants to make as much money as possible and said RenderWare is available for other studios.

It would be idiotic on EA's part not to allow Renderware to be licensed to other developers. Then again... it is EA...

Well it seems that UE3 is having more success as "engine for sale" middleware than anything else. The Doom 3 engine hasn't been licensed that much, the Reality engine is now gone, and the Source engine is being licensed alot but not to the same extent as UE3.

Too bad Reality Engine is gone now. It looked like a decent solution for indies and smaller companies. Now as usual, anyone who doesn't have half a million dollars to spend will just have to work their asses off and build their own engine.
