Universal Truths

What, normal teachers are ugly? What is your problem?

I really hope you are kidding or not sober.
It's not about being ugly or beautiful but about her behaviour and what type of moral and example she gives to the young generation. I mean, you are from USA, is the situation over there so bad that you can not distinguish these things?

Fortunately, she was fired, for good. ;)

Really? You think she does this in the classroom? And seriously, people are way, way too hung up about sex in our culture.

Fortunately, she was fired, for good. ;)
Why the fuck should her behavior outside of the classroom matter?

This stuff happens all the time, in Europe too. Something about reputation, and what does half a room full of thirteen year old males.. yeah, laughing (at best), downloading the pics, plastering them all over in the toilets, calling the prof a bitch or accomplishing a particular, widespread sin.

Two links about this (but in French), first one is an italian teacher who was doing actual porn and second one a french female janitor (!) who has a porn blog. The second story is less clear cut.. But she was suspended not fired.

The rule is that firstly, if you're a teacher and you're on facebook, either make sure any saucy photos you post are only visible to very trustworthy friends and secondly, make sure you don't add any of your pupils or their parents as friends!

My fiancee is a teacher an it is surprising how many of her pupils, past and present, keep sending friend requests on facebook which she rebuffs every time!

No, I don't understand this rule. There is nothing wrong to be a friend with your teacher, especially when there are privacy settings, different groups of friends with different level of freedom what to see when you post, etc...

Why the fuck should her behavior outside of the classroom matter?

Because I wouldn't trust her as in my eyes she doesn't look as a very normal person. Especially with that cloud of smoke aorund her. She looks like a stupid teenager.

Not to mention that this age of 23 for a teacher is beyond ridiculous.

Well, obviously it is an unwritten, informal rule. Facebook seem to change their privacy settings seemingly every couple of months so I'm not quite sure how you could be certain any risque photographs wouldn't be seen.

Regardless, why would a teacher want to be 'friends' with a pupil? A clear delineation between work and play seems sensible to me.

I think you have bigger problems since in the other forums (without the presence of americans  ) we agree to agree that she deserved to be suspended/ or fired, whatever. Go figure where you are.

And you think that having other assholes agree with you somehow makes you right? Fat chance.

We live in a sad world full of capitalists- idiots:

Champions League - Match in England 'fixed'
Investigators from across Europe said on Monday they had identified about 380 football matches that had been fixed across Europe, bringing in about 8 million euros in profits

One of the matches identified is an unnamed Champions League game taking place in England, though the identity of the match cannot be confirmed due to "ongoing judicial proceedings".
Speaking in The Hague, Europol head Rob Wainright said the joint investigation had identified about 425 corrupt officials, players and serious criminals in 15 countries.
"This is a sad day for European football," Wainwright said

Do you know what an echo-chamber is?

Bloomin' 'eck guv. What the hell has nobbling sporting events got to do with capitalism?!

It is considered as an industry earning millions or billions. And as any other profit-oriented industry, it can be easily described as part of the capitalism.

Why don't you think more and answer these questions yourself instead of always teasing me?
From this moment on I'm not going to answer anything.

So, a grown person actually doing something with her sexuality is suddenly a bad thing? It was pics of her in her underwear OMG SO TERRIBLE

Easily? By which I presume you mean carelessly, trivially, irrelevantly, thoughtlessly, or some other of the established dictionary definitions of that word.

I'm not teasing you, I'm just asking you to make a bit more sense little engine.

By which I mean make sense to other normal people. People on this specific planet in this specific Universe, and make sense without the use of mind-altering drugs.

At the very least, do us a favour and make a little bit more sense to people on this forum, even if elsewhere you do get to roam free.

Especially considering that these pictures are no worse than what women regularly bare in public on beaches around the world. Less revealing, in some cases.

And seriously, why are people upset that teachers may, from time to time, have sex? Why does it matter when that aspect of their lives gets outed to the public?

Seriously, especially when you consider that two piece swimsuits are insanely popular and are basically floss with little bits to cover your crotch and tits.

As for the non-bolded portion, well: the only reason I'd get upset with a teacher's sex life is if it's crossing over into the class room somehow. I.E. fucking students(Which is inexcusable, really, even in college considering most college students are in their late teens to early 20s... That's still pretty friggin' young) or just being a creeper.

That strange bit about fixed football matches - anyone else think €8M sounds surprisingly LOW, considering the alledged number of matches, teams, even referees and journalists involved?

I think someone or someones are downplaying the numbers to try and pretty this catastrophe up a bit. I mean, if you were world cup footballers, would you sell your honor so damn cheap?

Doesn't make sense to me. These are not low-paid players. If I made millions per season, would I lose on purpose for the equivalent of table scraps in money? Heck no. Who would?

Not that I would sell out for any amount of money, short of all the dough in the visible universe anyway. ;)

I think we're talking players from the less well known nations and various officials. The English game involved for example is allegedly Liverpool vs Debrecen - although it isn't known exactly how the money was made. There are a lot of ways to make money by betting on football matches - the actual result being only the most obvious way of doing it.

I can't imagine the players of Debrecen are paid much - it wouldn't take much to sway the result in subtle ways. Given this particular game was a dullish 1-0 home win, it's difficult to tell where the money would have been made.

Naturally. I guess I didn't specify I was talking about their life outside of school, and barring illegal sexual activity (e.g. pedophilia, rape). I think it's disgusting that we somehow expect that teachers be paragons of puritanical virtue.

except tesla was wrong

In the long term Tesla wanted to get induction-effects from earth's electro-magnetic field. The net-effect would be, if I remember right, the slowing of the earth's rotation. That energy is as free as solar, atomic, oil, gas, ... based energy. Except the "resource" is everywhere, and on small scale you could have a generator in the cellar. That was the core idea[l], independence.
But this thread is not the right place just how visionary and capable Tesla was. :) Just saying he and his ideas are often instrumentalized inappropriatly.
