Even though the original reason for this thread getting created in the first place is no longer with us, there are other sorts and forms of unversal truths... One of those being the crappyness of Windows Update.

Like this gem for example:

The installation of update 2919355 fails on a computer that is running Windows RT 8.1, Windows 8.1, or Windows Server 2012 R2.

This issue occurs because a new component in update 2919355 contains a file version that is later than the file version that was already installed on the computer.

...Uh, what? Come again?

It's failing because a new file is "later" (IE, newer?) than the one on disk, well isn't that the whole fucking point of windows update so tell me!

It kills me when MS releases buggy updates. I'll come in on a Wednesday morning and half of my clients will have failed updates because of dumb shit like that.
